A social initiative that helps people get to know each other through "soft networking".

About us

Did you know that at least 65% (and maybe as many as 80%) of job openings are never posted? In large companies, the vacancy is sent out through the corporate newsletter, and employees recommend (refer) those who they think have the necessary skills from among "those they know well". It may be different in smaller companies, but the pattern is the same. And you've probably already guessed that one of these unposted jobs may someday be the one you're looking for. Everyone says you need networking in order to become one of "those they know well". But what if you don't like or have the courage to talk to someone first? Does this automatically mean that you are a bad specialist and not worthy of a good job? Absolutely not. Maybe you're an introvert, or maybe you don't like to keep people busy for no reason, and if you choose to start a conversation, you want it to have meaning, not just to talk. That's why we choose soft networking, which will never make you feel out of place. IF: * You are an open-minded person. * You want to share ideas and take part in important volunteer or commercial projects. * You want someone to recommend you for your dream job someday. JOIN our community today. No money, for free. You only "pay" with your time and commitment. We will communicate and get to know each other in a new way. You've probably never had such an experience before. It will be cool, relaxed, and at the same time mega-effective. You will leave every our meeting energized, knowing the participants personally. We meet mostly on Saturdays or Sundays. Follow our events: https://www.linkedin.com/company/co-mi/events/

  • Is self-bullying the most timeless style of motivation or demotivation? When you forget about your goal and start thinking about words, thoughts of family, friends, and relatives? Why could you feel “unsuccessful” in immigration as an immigrant in Canada? New questions and new boundary breaks in our mind at the 14th Open-Minded Meeting occurred last Tuesday, August 6th. Our well-known circle format with a friendly atmosphere at Platform Calgary became more than a place for meetings. Good known and new faces at the meeting proved time and time again that soft networking works. We were sharing the stories, the reasons why we have changed lives, and what we are dreaming of now, the job, the life! Do you feel self-bullying on you, or guilty because of your choice? For this and other questions, a special guest and friend of millions of people – Kalyani Pardeshi, discussed and shared her own story and how to build a healthy mind as an immigrant without bullying yourself. You could see her in TEDx Talks, Kalyani Pardeshi, self-bullying interventionist, multiple award-winning author & certified Flowcess trainer/consultant combating the inner critic/bully so that every person feels safe to be themselves. Author of the “Unbullied: 14 techniques to silence the critics” - the book that helps grow potential and improve esteem. Her story, her power, and belief in the right of the decision. As newcomers, as immigrants in this meeting, we focused on exploring and discussing how self-bullying affects us, what the reason is and how to live with it or solve it. We know sometimes we compare ourselves with others, but why, what is the reason why we continue to blame and self-bullying? Our amazing speaker shared the behavioral archetypes that *can* be self-bullying. Be aware, I found my red flag, did you? The behavioral archetypes: * Overachiever - seeks worth and value in achievements. * The Underdog - thriver on proving others wrong. * The Pollyanna - always looking on the bright side without acknowledging anything else. These behaviors could come from: * Past trauma * Defense mechanism * Guilt * Response to what others say/believe * Replicating the behavior of a role model adult If you have someone who doubts you, or complains about your decisions, just let them, but never forget the reason why you do it, why you decided, and what you wish. In that case, no one couldn`t affect you and your decisions. Live your own life.  *** We want to thank everyone who joined us for this amazing event! You all are amazing and unique! More tips and tricks, more fun, and soft-networking at our meetings! Still wondering if you should join us? The Open-Minded Meetings offer a unique space for exploration and connection. Keep an eye out for announcements about the next gathering. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with other freethinkers and curious minds! Author: Mariia Plechak Photos: Vlada Bartenieva
