📣 The City of Delta has reached another milestone in its work to revitalize Ladner Village. At the Regular Meeting of September 23, Council directed staff to issue the Expression of Interest (EOI) that will seek proposals for a tourist accommodation along Chisholm Street. The decision followed a report on the engagement program involving residents in creating the criteria for the EOI as well as an overview of the next steps for the project. 📣 Delta Council has approved a new layout for the fields in Winskill Park and directed staff to proceed with construction of a fourth ball diamond as part of the Winskill Renewal Project. At the September 23 Regular Meeting, City staff presented a report and a refined site plan for the Winskill Park that was developed following discussions with field user groups. The report sought direction from Council on the timeline for the construction of a fourth baseball diamond and whether construction should move forward immediately or be deferred until there is a greater need for increased field capacity. 📣The future of fields at Winskill Park is on the September 23 Council agenda. Following direction from Council, staff have consulted further with field user groups and prepared a site layout that plans for the future of field sports in the community as well as the new aquatic and fitness centre. The proposed plan includes a new configuration for the three ball diamonds that exist today plus an option for a fourth ball diamond. Council will be asked to consider the new plan and provide direction on timing of construction of the fourth ball diamond.
