We’re excited to launch our “made-in-Coquitlam” Employee Appreciation Program titled “Cheers for Your Peers.” This initiative includes a series of stories showcasing the work of City employees who have been nominated by their peers that will be shared internally and through the City’s LinkedIn page. Cheers for Your Peers was created as a final project from the most recent cohort of the City’s award-winning Core Leadership Program. Through these posts, we aim to highlight the exceptional work carried out by Coquitlam staff across various departments, showcasing their commitment, talent, and the positive impact they have on our community. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Jamieson Pritchard, a development planner who has worked at the City of Coquitlam for the last five years. Jamieson plays a crucial role in the growth of our community by guiding thoughtful and strategic development that enhances livability in Coquitlam. Among the many projects that Jamieson has worked on, there is one in particular that he is most proud of. Robert Nicklin Place, located at 3100 Ozada Avenue in the City Centre area, features 164 below/non-market rental units and was completed in early 2024. The City contributed $3.3 million to this project development through the Affordable Housing Reserve Fund. “Every development project requires thousands of hands and minds to make happen – from our elected decision-makers, to public servants, to tradespeople, and applicants themselves,” he said. “Being part of any number of projects that deliver affordable housing, public amenities, and employment opportunities for our community is a great reminder that urban planning is inherently an optimistic profession, that creating a better world is genuinely possible, and that we all have our part to play to create great places to live, work, and play in.”
