Is #SocialPrescribing the next big idea? Julia Hotz in the Next Big Idea Club thinks so. Why? "1. Social prescribing helps us rethink sickness—less as fixed disorders in the body and more as “reactions” to a stressful environment. 2. Social prescribing helps us rethink treatment—guided less by “What’s the matter with you?” and more by “What matters to you?” 3. Social prescriptions for movement, nature, art, service, and belonging can improve our health. 4. Social prescriptions can improve health care. 5. Social prescriptions are a gateway drug to help all of us get well."
