According to the #WorldGoldCouncil, around 212,582 tonnes of gold has been mined throughout history, of which around two-thirds have been mined since 1950. Almost all of that gold is still around because the metal is virtually indestructible. If every single ounce of this gold were placed next to each other, the resulting cube of pure gold would only measure around 22 metres (73 feet) on each side. 45.4% of that gold is currently jewelry, 22.3% is in bars, coins, and gold backed ETFs, 17.3% is held in central banks, and 15.0% is in other forms. Earlier this month, Centerra Gold had the pleasure of hosting a Fort St. James Secondary School Tour at the Mount Milligan mine. We welcomed nine enthusiastic grade 10 students from a high school careers class, along with their dedicated teacher, for an insightful tour of our mine. It was an exciting day filled with career conversations across various departments, giving the students a firsthand look at the diverse opportunities in the mining industry. The tour included a visit to the open pit, a stop at the core shack, and a glimpse into what daily life at the camp looks like. We're thrilled to have been able to share our passion for mining and to inspire the next generation of industry professionals. #MiningEducation #CareerExploration #FutureLeaders #STEMEducation #MiningCareers

On May 11, 2024, Mount Milligan proudly continued its 11-year tradition of hosting the annual Land Blessing Ceremony (Shus Nadloh) with Nak’azdli First Nation and McLeod Lake Indian Band. This meaningful event, organized in collaboration with local Indigenous Nations, was a testament to our commitment to #CulturalUnderstanding and #CommunityEngagement. This year, we were delighted to welcome 39 participants, including families from Nak'azdli who brought their children to begin learning the rich traditions of their heritage. The ceremony, which included participation from our social performance team, provided employees with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in local traditions. At Mount Milligan, we believe in the importance of fostering First Nation traditions and promoting a respectful, collaborative work environment. #CommunityBuilding #IndigenousTraditions #WorkplaceCulture

We were proud to sponsor the 2024 #TrueNorth Business Development Forum hosted by the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and Lheidli T'enneh Nation. The event, held on June 11th at the House of Ancestors Conference Center in Prince George, focused on navigating reconciliation, diversity, and innovation in business in northern BC. During our session, we had the privilege of sharing inspiring stories from Caroline Sam of Nak’azdli Whut’en First Nation and vincent chingee of McLeod Lake Indian Band. At our Öksüt mine, recovered gold is processed into doré bars at Centerra's processing facility and then delivered to a refinery. All gold doré produced at the Öksüt mine is processed at refining facilities within Türkiye. Under Turkish legislation, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye has a first right to purchase gold produced by mining operations in the country. The sales price is fixed based on the gold spot price. If the gold doré is not purchased by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, it is sold at market prices on the Borsa Istanbul.
