Canadensys President and CEO Christian Sallaberger spoke at the Opening Ceremonies in Houston, Texas this week. The ISU 2024 SSP is being held at Rice University in Houston, and is co-hosted by the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Johnson Space Center. With a class size of 155 space professionals from 35 countries around the world, the program will be supported by over 300 global ISU faculty members, visiting lecturers and staff who will travel to Houston during the 8-week program. The CSA senior staff were able to see firsthand the ongoing work on a number of Canadensys projects, as we jointly develop the Canadian lunar economy.

Canadensys Aerospace Corporation, and our partners from University of Guelph and McGill University are excited to be part of this groundbreaking work with the Canadian Space Agency | Agence spatiale canadienne and German Aerospace Center (DLR). As the evolution of the work done by the successful EDEN-ISS project on Bioregenerative Life Support Systems and Lunar Agriculture, the GTD project has the objective of leading to a flight representative system that could support Artemis missions in the 2030s. The work also has tremendous potential to benefit remote and other wise challenging locations on Earth. Viel glück in Bremen!
As part of international plans to send astronauts further into the solar system, we are working with partners to learn how to grow healthy food in harsh environments, both in space and on Earth. Canadian and international experts are now working to design the first Lunar Agricultural Module Ground Test Demonstrator. Canadian industry and academia, National Research Council Canada, NASA, DLR (the German space agency) and ASI (the Italian space agency) are meeting in Germany from March 7 to 15 to mature conceptual designs for all controlled environment agriculture technologies and operations required for a space-ready lunar greenhouse. They will conduct analyses on greenhouse systems such as illumination control, nutrient delivery, plant health monitoring, robotics, air management, power distribution and many more. We wish our colleagues and collaborators a fruitful Concurrent Engineering Design Study meeting.
Our team at Canadensys Aerospace Corporation is thrilled to have our high-resolution lunar cameras aboard the Intuitive Machines Odysseus lunar lander. These spectacular images helped Intuitive Machines showcase their amazing achievement!
The IM-1 Mission successfully landed the first spacecraft on the Moon's south pole region, marking the United States' first return since Apollo 17 and the first commercial lunar lander to transmit valuable science data of each NASA payload from the lunar surface. In addition, the operation of the Company's liquid methane and liquid oxygen propulsion system in deep space is flight-proven through successful mission operations. Intuitive Machines achieved these marquee accomplishments in the Company's first attempt to land on the Moon. The first image illustrates Odysseus' landing strut performing its primary task, absorbing first contact with the lunar surface to preserve mission integrity. Meanwhile, the lander's liquid methane and liquid oxygen engine is still throttling, which provided stability. The Company believes the two insights from this image enabled Odysseus to gently lean into the lunar surface, preserving the ability to return scientific data. Taken on February 27th, flight controllers commanded Odysseus to capture a new image (second) using its narrow-field-of-view camera. Previous attempts to send photos from landing and the days following returned unusable imagery. After successfully transmitting the image to Earth, flight controllers received additional insight into Odysseus' position on the lunar surface.
