CAMPFIRE CIRCLE has offered healing through happiness for thousands of kids and families affected by childhood cancer since 1983. It’s where kids can be kids, and families can be families—engaging in camp-inspired community, in-hospital, and overnight camp programs, at no cost to them. As a privately funded organization, CAMPFIRE CIRCLE makes thousands of life-changing experiences possible for Campers throughout the year, all across Ontario. Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium merged in 2020, and announced a new name in January 2022. We aren’t changing what we do—we’re just changing our name. We are pleased to announce that Campfire Circle’s Board of Directors appointed Jennifer Grossklaus (Partner at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP) as our new Board Chair, and Andrew Guizzetti (Co-CEO/Co-Founder, Empire Communities) as our new Board Vice Chair. We thank Kristine McTaggart, MBA (Senior Vice-President, Service Operations, Dialogue) for her dedicated service and leadership as Board Chair the past two years. We also welcome three new directors: Melinda Rogers-Hixon, Vice Chair of Rogers Control Trust. Melinda is a tenured business leader, innovator and philanthropist. Her expertise spans various aspects of organizational leadership, strategic planning and corporate governance. Melinda is a current donor and advisor. Sabaa Quao, MBA Quao, Chief Creative & Innovation Officer, Cossette. Sabaa is a creative marketing and communications leader and entrepreneur. He brings expertise of the digital/social space along with his experience in strategic planning and network. Sabaa is also a camper parent. Jason Goldlist, CEO of Venue.ink and Co-Founder of TechTO. Jason is an accomplished entrepreneur and brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, marketing and digital technologies. He’s also an alumni volunteer counsellor.
