We're proud to partner with the City of Buffalo, New York, Buffalo Public Schools and First Student in New York to modernize school buses and make roads safer for every student who steps onboard a yellow school bus. The program is eagerly anticipated by local parents who are concerned about reckless driving around school buses: “The traffic never stops; a lot of buses are honking because cars are flying through in the morning and afternoon.” The City of Buffalo's school bus safety program will go live today, October 1, after an extensive warning period and education campaign. We're on a mission to protect students on their way to and from school in all 50 states. BusPatrol is expanding into New England with two new partnerships as kids go back to school in Bridgeport, CT and Providence, RI. The Bridgeport and Providence School Bus Safety Programs are setting a new standard for safety in the Northeast, equipping the entirety of both fleets, totaling over 400 buses, with cutting-edge safety technology to keep students safe on the ride to and from school each day. We're proud to serve these communities in partnership with Bridgeport Mayor Joseph Ganim, City of Bridgeport, Connecticut Bridgeport Public Schools, Bridgeport Police Department, and WE Transport Inc./Towne Bus Corp./Van Trans LLC in Connecticut as well as Mayor Brett Smiley, City of Providence, Providence Public Schools, Providence Police Department, and First Student in Rhode Island. Yesterday at the AAA Northeast annual School's Open Drive Safely press conference, #BusPatrol announced a partnership with Mayor Dominick Pangallo, the City of Salem, Massachusetts, and Salem Public Schools to start the second school bus safety pilot program in Massachusetts. The district's entire fleet has been equipped with our cutting-edge technology to detect reckless drivers who fail to stop for children getting on and off the bus. The data will help to raise awareness about the dangers children face on the ride to and from school. Each year, an estimated 45.2 million vehicles illegally pass stopped school buses in the US, putting the lives of countless children at risk. And last school year, our pilot program in Peabody recorded almost 3,500 vehicles fail to stop. Driver behavior needs to change. Together, we can make roads safer for every child. Artificial Intelligence is the future of student transportation safety—and BusPatrol is proud to be leading the charge. Why use AI over radar technology to catch illegal school bus passings? Unlike traditional radar technology, our AI-engine, AVA, can scan up to eight lanes of traffic, leading to a significantly higher violation capture rate. In fact, AVA is over 30% more accurate than the human eye. TL;DR AI allows for better enforcement→more impactful behavioral change→safer roads for our kids. Kids are back to school across the country and the roads are busier than ever. We recently appeared on Fox News Media after alarming new data from our partner in Miami, FL, revealed just how often cars failed to stop for buses in the first weeks of the new school year. "This is a public safety crisis," reported officials. We're proud to be working with municipalities, school districts, and law enforcement nationwide to reduce the rate of illegal passings and make roads safer for students this new school year.
