Independent investment managers, since 1991
About us
Burgundy Asset Management is a global investment manager providing discretionary investment management for private clients, foundations, endowments, pensions and family offices. Burgundy follows a bottom-up, value-driven investment approach supported by intensive fundamental research. Our rigorous, original research enables us to seek out strong, undervalued companies with the potential to achieve solid, absolute returns over the long term. Founded in 1990, Burgundy began investing for clients in 1991. Our central mission is to protect and build the capital of our clients, who are seeking strong, long-term, absolute returns versus short-term, relative performance. We remain independent and employee owned, and invest alongside our clients so that our investment interests are directly aligned.

The U.S. market gets most of the attention in the world today since it accounts for most of the world’s equity market value. It tells a rather odd tale. The overwhelming majority of publicly traded U.S. companies have negative returns year to date. A very small number of enormous and fast-growing internet platform/AI stocks are up hugely on the year and have kept the market averages in positive territory. Such companies do not exist elsewhere, so most non-U.S. markets continue to lag.
