I meet new people practically every single day. I usually don't talk about working background with them, bit boring, I think everyone can be someone, also out of a specific label. But this week I met someone working on this canadian startup and I found this project so interesting. Allowing families living abroad and in the meanwhile helping their children with education with specific projects and of course in special locations, for me it's a real step toward the future. My favorite things about travelling in Indonesia and engaging with local communities, are looking through their diverse social and cultural context, and getting new understandings. Last Saturday, I led and managed a trip to Nusa Lembongan island, which is on the southeast of Bali island and 30-40 mins fast-boat drive from Sanur. We Boundless Life collaborated with a local seaweed farmer to learn about the #1 commodity in Nusa Lembongan. We supported the local seaweed farmers by learning about their work, helping them to harvest the seaweed, and preparing for replanting!🌱 Seaweed is life for them as it gives them opportunities to earn money, even in the hard times, like when Covid-19 happened. Bapak Rama, one of the seaweed farmers that we had been in contact with, is also a local champion who leads an initiative in preserving seaweed cultivation. Nowadays, young generations in Nusa Lembongan are more focused on tourism (many of them become tour guides, drivers, etc), which is great that they are exposed to more opportunities! However, Bapak Rama is still committed to encourage the young generation to keep learning and understand the seaweed cultivation, as it is a big part of their life and would help them to survive in hard times. This journey was not only an island exploration, but also another amazing opportunity to learn more and contribute❤️

Our classrooms are more than just spaces for academic learning—they're hubs for creativity and exploration. While academics are important, we also encourage students to find different ways to express themselves. Our recent "Boundless Open Mic" event was a perfect example of this, celebrating the publishing of our students' poems. Students got the chance to sing, play instruments, and recite their poems in a fun and supportive environment. Classmates cheered each other on, creating a positive and energetic atmosphere. Events like these build confidence and allow our students to explore their creative sides. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure 🌟♻️ During a recent visit to r•Plastic, a small family business in Ubud, our Bali students marvelled at how all of the plastics that they have been collecting on their recent beach clean-ups can be given a ‘second life’. With a playful and hands-up approach to sustainability education, the incredible staff at r•Plastic got our Boundless Life students involved in the entire product development process. From sorting out their waste and shredding it into microplastics to using the CNC machine to personalise their products, old flip-flops and bottle caps were transformed into art pieces that can be forever cherished.    Major kudos to our Bali educators, especially Anne Edmondson for organising this inspiring hands-on field trip!
