BMO Commercial Bank reposted this
The stretch of days when we celebrate Canada Day and the Fourth of July is one of my favourites of the year: time with friends and family, great weather (hopefully), and a kick-off to the best opportunity all year to hit the road to spend time with clients and colleagues. With these two holidays just days apart, it’s a perfect time to pause and reflect on the partnership of two nations fortunate to enjoy the strongest bilateral relationship in the world. What our two countries have achieved, and the power of the collaborative continental platform that underwrites our leading quality of life, can be overshadowed by today’s border issue or tomorrow’s trade negotiation. But there is no place I’d rather be living in and competing from than North America, and no greater partnership of nations than that of the United States and Canada at its heart. Happy 157th birthday, Canada (only 50 years behind us at BMO), and happy Fourth of July to all our American clients, colleagues and friends. I recorded the video below for the many members of Team BMO living and working in both countries. I hope you have an opportunity to renew old connections and to make new ones this summer holiday season.
