Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend Juneteenth in conversation with Paul Judge and Lise Birikundavyi, CFA discussing the history of economic inequality for black communities in North America and forwarding real solutions that we believe have the potential to create a more inclusive venture capital ecosystem in 2024. Big thank you to Brittany Robins for guiding the conversation and thank you to Collision Conf for having me back. Spring Open Opportunity Fund BKR Capital

There is only one way the initiatives BDC announced yesterday in support of underrepresented entrepreneurs can be successful: by getting the support, collaboration and candid feedback from business owners and all the organizations working with them. We will need to listen and adjust - even as we try and aspire to be bold and move fast. That’s why I was so thankful for the presence of many of clients, our key partners and new friends at our launch activity yesterday. Their presence meant a lot. I hope they continue to challenge us to do better and set high ambitions for underrepresented entrepreneurs.
