We are thrilled to see the upcoming documentary Living Drugs: The Man Who Changed the Paradigm, which celebrates the work of Dr. Michel Sadelain and his partner Dr. Isabelle Rivière over their 30 year journey developing revolutionary CD19 CAR therapy. Also featured in the documentary is Camille Leahy, patient of the BioCanRx partnered CLIC-01 clinical trial, the first clinical trial of fully Canadian-made CAR-T cells, which have produced remission in adults with refractory leukemia. Immunotherapy is advancing at an incredible pace and we are excited to learn of the promising work being done by Canadian researchers at McMaster University in Hamilton, and Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. They are working with American colleagues to further groundbreaking research into treating glioblastomas – the most aggressive form of brain cancer.   While still in early stages, and only tested in mice so far, this new research holds promise for treating other invasive and aggressive cancers in the brain using CAR T cell therapy. While clinical trials for humans may still be a few years away, this research holds strong hope for new options for patients in desperate need of new therapeutic approaches. Read more…. https://bit.ly/3LZ5UyR L'immunothérapie progresse à un rythme incroyable et nous sommes ravis de prendre connaissance des travaux prometteurs réalisés par des chercheurs canadiens de l'Université McMaster à Hamilton et de l'Hôpital pour enfants de Toronto. Ils travaillent avec des confrères américains pour faire avancer la recherche révolutionnaire sur le traitement des glioblastomes – la forme la plus agressive de cancer du cerveau. Bien qu'elle n'en soit qu'à ses débuts et qu'elle n'ait été testée que chez la souris jusqu'à présent, cette nouvelle recherche est prometteuse pour le traitement d'autres cancers invasifs et agressifs du cerveau à l'aide de la thérapie cellulaire T-CAR. Même si les essais cliniques chez des humains ne pourraient être réalisés que dans quelques années, cette recherche est porteuse d'un grand espoir pour les patients qui ont désespérément besoin de nouvelles options d’approches thérapeutiques.
