We recently had the opportunity to tour the Modular Precast Systems Inc. (MPS) factory in Ontario, where we observed how modular construction methods—including floors, structure, and facades with pre-installed windows—are efficiently applied in a controlled environment. Modular and prefabricated approaches like these offer a streamlined solution, helping us balance coordination and on-site construction time with the sustainability goals of our projects. This approach is key to the development of Valhalla Village, a new mixed-use community designed by BDP Quadrangle for KingSett Capital. By incorporating these established modular construction techniques into our design and construction process, we’re able to deliver this affordable housing project faster than using traditional methods while also meeting Kingsett’s goal of achieving the CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Building design standard.
