About us
Founded in 1967, BC Housing is a provincial Crown corporation that serves as a trusted leader and partner in sustainable housing solutions for British Columbians. Our mission is to make a positive difference in people’s lives and communities through safe, affordable and quality housing. Under the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing we develop, manage and administer a wide range of subsidized housing options across the province. We also license residential builders, administer owner builder authorizations and carry out research and education that benefits the residential construction industry, consumers and the affordable housing sector. Priority will be given to Sunshine Coast residents and to those who had to leave the Coast to find safe, affordable housing. September 30th is National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families, and their communities. As we approach September 30th, BC Housing is commemorating the history and legacy of the residential school system through listening, reflecting, and knowledge-building. Together with our Indigenous partners, we are dedicated to creating safer spaces for ongoing dialogue, fostering understanding, healing, and a shared path toward reconciliation. #NationalDayofTruthAndReconciliation #TruthAndReconciliation #NDTR #OrangeShirtDay
