B2Gold Namibia, in partnership with the Otavi Town Council, officially launched the Be Your Own Boss Program in Otavi. This initiative aims to empower local prospective entrepreneurs and foster economic growth in the community. Over the next year, 15 prospective and start-up business owners in Otavi will receive intensive entrepreneurial training from a specialist business skills training institution. Through this program, participants will gain critical entrepreneurial skills, receive assistance in creating viable business plans and strategies, and have access to a network of business mentors and experts to help them start and grow their enterprises. B2Gold's Erhardtshof farm is one of the private commercial farms purchased to develop our Otjikoto Gold Mine in Namibia. B2Gold's Erhardtshof Agriculture Project aims to address national food insecurity by bolstering the local production of maize and wheat, key staples in Namibian cuisine, and reducing reliance on imports. In 2023-2024 Erhardtshof farm reached a milestone crop of maize. Today, on World Youth Skills Day, we recognize the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. Across our operations at B2Gold, we support intiatives and vocational training that provide young people with skills to enable them to access employment or further education and training opportunities, and create sustainable livelihoods in the areas and communities where we operate.
