Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting our #WomenInLeadership Conference, bringing together inspiring female leaders from across Aviva’s business and our broker partners.🤝 Held in both Niagara-on-the-Lake and Victoria, B.C., and themed Linking Arms and Breaking Barriers, this incredible event offered the opportunity for women leaders to reconnect with industry peers, share powerful stories, and gain invaluable insights. 💡 Our sessions explored topics from enhancing customer experiences to tackling fraud and promoting sustainability. We know many walked away feeling inspired, empowered and excited to continue to collaborate on advancing career growth, addressing broker challenges, and shaping the future of our industry. 💼 As we continue to build strong partnerships and work towards gender balance, we’re using sessions like these to keep the conversation going. Using our collective strength, we know we can drive meaningful change.💪 #WomenInInsurance --- Le mois dernier, nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir la conférence Women in Leadership, un lieu de rassemblement pour les femmes inspirantes qui occupent des postes de direction à Aviva et chez nos courtiers-partenaires.🤝 Tenu à la fois à Niagara-on-the-Lake et à Victoria (C.-B.), et ayant pour thème de se serrer les coudes pour éliminer les barrières, cet événement a permis aux femmes dirigeantes d’échanger avec des paires de l’industrie, de partager des récits inspirants et d’acquérir de précieuses connaissances.💡 Les séances portaient sur l’amélioration de l’expérience client, la lutte contre la fraude et la durabilité. The #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. As we acknowledge the painful legacy of residential schools and the injustices faced by these communities, we know that learning and educating don’t stop after this day. Throughout September, we lined up a series of activities to deepen our understanding and take action on our shared responsibilities, including: 📦Volunteering by assembling Kits for a Cause for Indigenous organizations. 🎤 Advancing the conversations with guest speaker Cher Obediah, and hearing her personal journey and views on the impacts of colonialism, assimilation and Indigenous truths. 📚Learning about the perspectives of Indigenous Peoples through our newly launched training module. 💡 Discussing the experiences of Indigenous Peoples and their portrayal in the media through our second Fire Side Chat. Our office is closed on Monday, September 30 to commemorate the day – so our people can use the time to continue to educate ourselves, learn and reflect on how we can all contribute to the path towards #TruthAndReconciliation. #NDTR --- La #JournéeNationaledelaVéritéetdelaRéconciliation, qui a lieu au Canada le 30 septembre, rend hommage aux enfants autochtones qui ne sont jamais rentrés chez eux et aux survivants des pensionnats, ainsi qu’à leurs familles et à leurs communautés. Tout en reconnaissant le douloureux héritage des pensionnats et les injustices subies par ces communautés, nous savons que l’apprentissage et l’éducation ne doivent pas s’arrêter après ce jour. Tout au long du mois de septembre, nous avons organisé une série d’activités visant à approfondir notre compréhension et à prendre des mesures pour assumer nos responsabilités communes, notamment :   📦Des initiatives de bénévolat en collaboration avec l’organisme Kits for a Cause pour soutenir des organisations autochtones. 🎤 Un atelier avec la conférencière Cher Obediah, au cours duquel elle a fait part de son parcours personnel et de ses constats concernant les vérités autochtones et les répercussions du colonialisme et de l’assimilation. 📚 Un nouveau module de formation sur le point de vue des peuples autochtones. 💡 Une discussion ayant pour thème les expériences des peuples autochtones et de leur représentation dans les médias lors de notre deuxième rencontre de discussion informelle.   Nos bureaux sont fermés le lundi 30 septembre pour commémorer cette journée, afin que notre personnel puisse continuer à s’éduquer, à apprendre et à réfléchir à la manière dont nous pouvons tous contribuer à la voie vers la #VéritéetlaRéconciliation. #JNVR

Équité Association investigators and analysts are seeing an increase in criminals stealing the identity of honest, hardworking people, and using these stolen identities to commit insurance fraud. Once a criminal has a victim’s personal information, they will apply for auto loans to finance a vehicle and take out an insurance policy on the vehicle. 🚨Insurance fraud is no joke, and ghost brokers are out there targeting unsuspecting customers, which could be you! A ghost broker is someone who poses as a legitimate, licensed insurance broker and sells fake or invalid policies. These fraudsters leave you thinking you have proper insurance coverage when really, you don’t, and it can also create significant financial risks. It’s always great to see our people giving back to our communities and bringing our values to life.🧡 Last week, groups across 9 of our offices in Canada participated in one of our internal activities leading up to National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – volunteering with Kits for a Cause, packing over 2,700 kits filled with essentials and messages of hope. These kits were then distributed to local Indigenous charities to support those in need. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to support this meaningful initiative. #TruthandReconciliation #AvivaGives ------ Nous sommes toujours ravis de voir nos employés s’investir dans nos collectivités et incarner nos valeurs.🧡 La semaine dernière, des employés bénévoles de nos 9 bureaux canadiens ont préparé plus de 2 700 trousses contenant des produits de première nécessité assorties d’un message d’espoir en collaboration avec l’organisme Kits for a Cause à l’occasion de la Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation. We’re warning all Canadians about a ghost broker scam under the names “AllcoveredbyAviva” or “Allcoveredbrokers” on social media, selling fake insurance in Alberta. Victims transfer money for auto insurance, receiving fake pink slips or no response. Ghost brokers pose as legitimate insurance brokers, selling fake policies that leave people without real coverage. Canada is in the midst of an auto theft crisis that is costing Canadians billions of dollars and a major contributor behind this issue is the illegal export of stolen vehicles.
