We had a very active week quayside with various vessel calls, providing important economic activity to the region, highlighted by the maiden voyage of Marine Atlantic ferry Ala'suinu kicking off the seasonal service to/from Argentia/North Sydney. Congratulations to vessel crew, support staff, maintenance and logistics personnel, and entire Marine Atlantic team, on the delivery of this impressive vessel to the service fleet. Borrowing from Marine Atlantic website, "Ala’suinu means “Traveller” in Mi’kmaw. The name is a celebration of Marine Atlantic’s connection to the Mi’kmaw communities both in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia. The name reflects Marine Atlantic’s commitment and focus on Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and was chosen after consultation with Indigenous stakeholders and employees". We're delighted to support Mammoet and Boskalis Nederland as marshalling port to your offshore wind projects.
The drive to build bigger, more productive offshore wind turbines means that monopiles weighing 2,500t are now commonplace. To make the best use of quayside space, they must be marshaled to and from the quay edge efficiently. Watch Mammoet loading-in monopiles for an recent offshore wind project. #Mammoet #OffshoreWind #Monopiles
