100% electric, made right here! I’d seen pictures, read articles, and heard Jason Huskilson proudly speak to it, but it was on our dingy ride around the harbour that I’d meandered past ABCO Industries Inc. in Lunenburg, where their 100% electric boat was tied alongside their wharf. Pretty impressive, and with so much potential on the horizon. The fastest of its kind on the market - and it’s been developed right here in Luneneburg. Moored in Lunenburg for a night last week, it reiterated for me again the importance of the sea in our regional economy. From super yachts, mingling in and among the Bluenose II and Picton Castle, the Coastguard coming/going, as well as the Adam’s and Knickle fleet - it’s impressive, especially from the water. The new Marina created by the Lunenburg Shipyard is a welcomed addition as well. And while you can’t ’hear’ it, wafting in the background when I snapped this picture was a very loud and happy crowd at Lightship Brewery singing along to a Fleetwood Mac cover band! And all of this is right here in my backyard, a mere 20 min drive away from the Town of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia !
