Samson Oak's Komala (ナリヤ・オーキドのネッコアラ Nariya Ōkido's Nekkoara) is a Pokémon that belongs to Samson Oak.
In the anime
History
Samson first met Komala, who was a wild Pokémon. It was blocking the road for a few farmers and travelers because it had lost its log. Samson wanted to give Komala a pineapple to replace its log but instead, it clung to Samson's face. From then on, Komala held on to Samson at all times, even when he carved a new log for it. One day, as Samson prepared to ring the Bronzong-themed bell of the Pokémon School, Komala took over and clung to the log used to ring the bell. Samson decided to keep it and Komala would continue to ring the bell every day on time.
Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon
Komala debuted in The Guardian's Challenge!, where it was seen sleeping atop of a tree at the Pokémon School.
In Racing to a Big Event!, Komala participated in the Pokémon Pancake Race with Samson Oak and won by defeating Nina's Raichu and Ash's Pikachu.
In Let Sleeping Pokémon Lie!, Komala fell from the school's tower and interrupted Ash and Kiawe's battle. Because of it's constant sleeping, it was able to avoid Jigglypuff's scribbling after its routine song, causing it to become furious. Samson, Professor Kukui, Ash, and his classmates were able to stop Jigglypuff by teaching Komala sing and turning the situation around on it.
In A Mission of Ultra Urgency!, Komala rang the bell frantically for an emergency of Ultra Guardians by Lusamine (anime). Since then, Komala rings the bell frantically when the Ultra Guardians are needed.
In A Haunted House for Everyone!, Lana, Acerola, Harper and Sarah and all of Ash's classmates return to the Pokémon School, from Komala's dream, after initially being trapped inside a dream created by Mismagius.
In Battle Royal 151!, Samson used Komala during the Battle Royal preliminary round of the Manalo Conference. Komala was among the 16 Pokémon still fighting at the end, securing its Trainer a place in the first round of the actual tournament.
Personality and Characteristics
Komala is a Pokémon shrouded in mystery. It is always asleep, as it eats special leaves that make it Comatose. However, it has shown to have great battling skills, as it easily defeated Kiawe's Marowak. It was also shown to be very loyal to Samson Oak.
Moves Used
Komala has used Wood Hammer, Rapid Spin and Sing in the anime. It's ability is Comatose.
