I've actually got this movie at home, and I was wondering if I could or should scan the cover for a pic here. Or will a movie poster on the internet suffice?

Trivia Bits

"The book that Spencer reads to Molly supposedly has a picture of a Beautifly in it." "Some of the Unown that appear on Professor Oak's computer are, as of yet, unreleased."

Call me crazy, but I'm a little skeptical on these bits. Any second opinions here?--Porygon 09:50, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Bumping this again. I'm tempted to take out the Beautifly part since I personally don't buy it, but I'm a little interested to hear about the unreleased Unown. Thanks guys.--Porygon 08:34, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Try looking at http://serebii.net/movies/entei/pics22.shtml for the Beautifly picture. Pikachu25 00:38, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Those pictures are really good. If you look, you can see the Beautifly and the unrealeased Unown. Ryguy 10:31, 19 August 2007 (EST)

The unreleased Unown picture is at http://serebii.net/movies/entei/pics12.shtml. Shouldn't someone put those pictures onto the pages? --Shiny Noctowl 14:47, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Those pictures are tiny! The Beautifly wings match but it is a fairy, not the Pokémon.
And I still don't see the Gen III Unown. --FabuVinny T-C-S 14:55, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Maybe it is a prototype for Beautifly. Why shouldn't someone put those pictures onto the page? Even though they are tiny, those are the best pictures available. The Unown picture is the second picture on the right side. It's not Gen III Unown, it's Unown that have never been released. --Shiny Noctowl 14:58, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

6c40mdv.jpg That's a fantasy image, not a prototype. --FabuVinny T-C-S 15:00, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

What about the pictures of the unreleased Unown? Aren't they okay? --Shiny Noctowl 15:40, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

The loose design of that picture was to make the point that the Unown are only known in legend in the anime world, thus the artist had probably never seen a real one. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
If you look closely, you can see that the pictures of the Unown are supposed to be photographs, not drawings. And besides, some of the pictures look nothing like the 28 real Unown. --Shiny Noctowl 00:53, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I do agree that several of the Unown look nothing like A-Z, ? and !, with one looking like a 6, and another looking like a sideways 3 (though that could just be an artistic take on W). While the Beautifly is out, perhaps we should make a mention that several of the Unown look nothing like the 28 known ones. TTEchidna 01:28, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
That book is definately art and not photographs. It is probably worth covering the book as a whole somewhere, with the two examples noted as oddities. --FabuVinny T-C-S 01:34, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
The pictures look too realistic to be art. --Shiny Noctowl 01:39, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I have a large picture of the Unown shaped like a 6. How do I upload it? --Shiny Noctowl 01:41, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
How the hell does it look like realistic photographs?
The movie explains the book in the opening lines, anyway: "These are legendary Pokémon, Molly. Lots of people believe in them even though they've never seen them. And in this book, the artist imagined what some of them might look like." --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:42, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
The picture I am talking about is the one from Professor Oak's computer. --Shiny Noctowl 21:28, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Professor Hale's Computers Screen

On http://pokezam.com/anime/movies/03.php, It says that Professor Hale's computer screen had and Espeon and Latias destop icon on it. Should we look further into this? --Ryguy 9:55, 21 August 2007 (EST)

Crystal Pokémon - is it correct?

I may have missed something, but are the Pokémon dreamed up by Molly really called Crystal Pokémon in the movie? There seems to be no mentioning of Crystal Poké Balls either, the blue balls used by Molly are just not named. Or am wrong? --Pokeresp 23:34, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Place in the timeline

As Kuki wanted to add something about the subject to the article, I think it should be discussed.

On one hand, the events in the movie couldn't have taken place before Fowl Play (because until this episode Ash didn't have his Noctowl) and after Hassle in the castle (as in this episode Brock's Zubat evolves into Golbat).

On the other hand, according to the articles about the anime, EP154 was first aired in Japan on June 29, 2000 and in the United States on April 28, 2001 whereas Spell of the Unown appeared in Japan on July 8, 2000 and in North America on April 6, 2001. It means that EP154 was aired in the United States later than the movie. Does it mean that anime and movies were not coordinated in the United States' theaters? If so, then the described place in the timeline is correct and this info should be added to the article.

P.S.I think such info should be added to all articles about the Pokémon movies. --Pokeresp 09:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

There's not really much to say. The movies always have the group's current team as of the Japanese airing, whereas the US premier tends to be earlier in the year so wouldn't be as current in the Kids WB era. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 11:55, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Spencer Hale's wife

Where in the movie does it explain that she has gone missing because of the unown?--Pokéboy93 03:25, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Unown Energy

Probably all the Unown energy comes from humans. When they move from their alphabetical form to Pokémon World, they get together by a presence of a strange energy. Althought it would be caused by Unowns' psychic power, when they stop getting envolved with humans dreams that power also stops. So, it might mean that energy was comming from human minds. From this, it can be conclude that only strong-mind people can held the power of the Unown. A weak one could not generate that energy completely. Beside this, a powerful relation about the Unown and the humans desires exists. So, it's quite difficult to know if these pokémon would exist without people. Unown_J.png

Title

"Pokémon 3: The Movie - Spell of the Unown"

Shouldn't it be "Pokémon the Movie 3 - Spell of the Unown?" That's what the chapter book calls it, anyways. Zesty Cactus 19:51, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

No... unless it's like that for all of the books. The way we have it right now for most of them is:

The Power of One (title)

Pokémon the Movie 2 - The Power of One (Japanese: 幻のポケモン ルギア爆誕 Mirage Pokémon: Lugia's Explosive Birth; officially Revelation-Lugia in Japan) is the second original series movie, blah blah blah blah blah... etc.

You get it. But yeah. Up untill "Heroes", that's pretty much how they are. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:33, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh crap. Nevermind. I got that mixed up. Yeah, you're right. Sorry. D: R.A. Hunter Blade 23:35, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Please someone check this out.sorry i cant explain better.thanks --Solid! 07:36, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

code

where it says -Japan {{{jpvid}}}

United States {{{usvid}}}

what is that writing inside the {} meant to be.I don't think it's meant to be there.--Solid! 05:53, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

It's a parameter that hasn't been filled in so it just shows up as {{{blah}}}. It's supposed to be the VHS/DVD release dates. --ZestyCactus 05:56, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay thanks.Weird I would have thought it would have been filled by now.Seeing as the vhs version released nearly a decade ago.--Solid! 09:04, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
So do we not know when this movie was released on video? Is there a way to find out? たかはりいTalk! 09:25, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Well according to the article both vhs and dvd release dates are not filled.I could find out.As wikipedia would have the dates I expect.--Solid! 10:44, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Unown pics, and Fairy and Sun In The Book of Legendary Pokemon

Although it is debatable whether or not the Unown photographs on Prof Oak's screen and the Fairy and the Sun in the Book of Legendary Pokemon are actually early designs for the ? and ! Unown, Beautifly and Solrock respectively, or simply Anime exclusive Pokemon never intended to ever be in the games (like Venustoise), surely they are worth a mention in the trivia section? Or on the respective Pokemon pages? Or the Unreleased Pokemon page? XVuvuzela2010X 16:22, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Title

Shouldn't it be titled "Pokémon 3: The Movie", not "Pokémon the Movie 3"? That's what I've always heard it called (in trailers and commercials back when it came out)... also that's what it's listed as on Wikipedia and IMDb. Dannyjenn 01:20, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I can confirm. There are several trailers that say "Pokémon 3: The Movie". Here's one:

/* Yawa surname */

In the original Japanese version, after Molly asks who Misty is, Misty introduces herself by saying "Sekai no Bishoujo Yawa Kasumi" around 40:26. This roughly translates to her calling herself "The world's most beautiful girl, Yawa Kasumi!" which is proof of her surname in the Japanese version being Yawa. ViridianXoxoGirl (talk) 17:21, 27 July 2017 (UTC)ViridianXoxoGirl

That is completely incorrect. The exact line is "世界の美少女名はカスミ" "Sekai no Bishoujo Na wa Kasumi". "Na" means "name" in Japanese. She is literally saying that her name is Kasumi. Nothing more. Ataro (talk) 17:37, 27 July 2017 (UTC)

Volcarona

Hello, in one of the scenes that shows the book of legendary pokemon, is that a Volcarona that I see there, or is it a motrez or ho-oh? African Vulture (talk) 18:41, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

You might have to provide a screenshot for that, because I don't have the movie with me to check for myself. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 21:02, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

I don't have a DVD of th emovie I only have the VHS, maybe watchcartoononline has it, but if not does anybody know how to screenshot a VHS on an older style TV? Remember I'm in a poorer country and I have an old style TV VCR combo, and I don't own the 3rd movie on DVD yet. thanks. African Vulture (talk) 00:27, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

If you mean the sun with a face or the human butterfly, then no, neither of those are Volcarona (nor are they Moltres or Ho-oh). They are just illustrations for the book, nothing to suggest that they are Pokémon.--ForceFire 06:19, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Trivia

A trivia point states that this is the only Pokémon movie to not feature a new Pokémon, but I’m confused as to what that means. As far as I’m concerned, there are several Pokémon making their debuts in this movie, in addition to the fact that M16 and M22 didn’t feature any Pokémon debuts.
