Blurb
Pancham dreams of becoming a hero, so it trains every day. When some people and Pokémon are in trouble, does Pancham have what it takes to be the hero they need?
Plot
A young Pancham lives in the mountains. It trains every day, aspiring to be a hero like Arcanine, a Pokémon who saved it from an Impidimp when it was younger. However, it refuses to evolve into a Pangoro, afraid that if it evolved, it would be seen as scary, causing other Pokémon to run away from it. It wears an Everstone as a necklace in an attempt to prevent itself from evolving.
In a town nearby, people in the local Pokémon Center talk about how powerful Pancham is. This sparks a young boy to go up the mountain in an attempt to capture it. He has a blue scarf around his wrist, given to him by his father, and it grants him the courage he needs to climb up the mountain. He finds Pancham, but it notices him and hides. The boy stays on the mountain, and begins talking to himself as though Pancham was there. He reveals that his dad is trapped in a mine due to falling rocks, and that the miners may be running low on food. He wants to catch Pancham in order to help free his father.
Pancham listens from its cave. The next morning, the boy awakens to see Pancham standing next to a Poké Ball. The boy catches Pancham, and it carries him all the way to the mine. It punches out a small hole, which an Impidimp crawls out of. Then, a giant boulder comes falling. Pancham catches it, noticing that the Impidimp can't move due to a sprained ankle. A geyser erupts from where the giant rock had been. Despite its fears about evolution, Pancham rips off its Everstone, evolving into Pangoro. It splits the flow of water, saving the Impidimp, and then breaks the remaining rock trapping the miners. As Pangoro goes to leave, the miners give him a round of applause. The boy gives him the scarf around his wrist, calling it proof of Pangoro's courage.
