Battle at the Dreamyard (Japanese: VS ミルホッグ VS Watchog), titled VS Watchog in the Shogakukan Asia translation, is the 471st chapter of the Pokémon Adventures manga, and the 11th chapter of the Black & White arc.
It is subtitled Watchog (Japanese: 研究 Research) in the VIZ Media translation and Research in the Shogakukan Asia translation.
Plot
As Black and White make their way through tall grass, Black battles and defeats a wild Liepard with Tep. Enthused by being in an ideal place to train his Pokémon, Black begins to shout out his dream, but he is interrupted when Musha begins to float away. Black chases after it, but is attacked and knocked unconscious by an obscured Pokémon with an odd face.
When Black wakes up, he finds himself in an unknown location with White standing over him. He sees two women beside her—Fennel and her assistant Amanita—who are revealed to have carried him to their laboratory. Fennel then drags him over to show off her research of dreams. Wanting to find Musha, Black attempts to leave, but accidentally knocks over his Pokédex, revealing to Fennel that he has met Professor Juniper. When Fennel expresses curiosity about Black's Munna, White suggests for her to help them search for it.
As the group searches in the tall grass for Musha, Fennel realizes that it could have been lured toward the Dreamyard. She leads them there, and Black recognizes it as the place where he was attacked. When he enters the abandoned building, he finds three Team Plasma Grunts holding onto Musha, who appears to be in great discomfort. Black demands the Grunts release Musha, but they accuse him of only seeing it as a belonging. When Black and Tep charge at the Grunts, they are both knocked away by the obscured Pokémon who attacked Black earlier.
One of the Grunts explains the Dreamyard's history, saying that Musha came to the abandoned factory of its own volition to respond to the dream shared by the former employees. Fennel is intrigued by this, prompting White to inform her of what she knows about Team Plasma so far.
As Black struggles to fight against the mysterious Pokémon, he finds his thoughts drowned out by his dream of winning the Pokémon League. Responding to Black's dream, Musha frees itself from the Grunts. It floats directly to Black and begins to eat his dream. This allows Black to clear his mind and order Tula to use Flash on his opponent. The attacking Pokémon is shown to be Watchog, who had used the patterns on its body to fool Black into thinking it was a stronger enemy. Black has his Pokémon defeat Watchog, but by the time it has fainted, the Team Plasma Grunts are revealed to have fled.
Back at Fennel's laboratory, Fennel and her researchers examine Musha. She collects a sample of its Dream Mist, then thanks Black for his help, sending him on his way with White.
