The Macho Brace (Japanese: きょうせいギプス Coercive Cast) is a held item introduced in Generation III. It doubles all effort values gained by the holder during a battle. It is an unobtainable held item in Generation VII and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Effect

Doubles any effort values that are obtained by the Pokémon holding it during a battle. Stacks with Pokérus. It does not affect effort values gained from vitamins and feathers.

The Speed stat of the Pokémon holding this item is halved during battle.

ColoXD A hold item that promotes growth, but reduces Speed. DPPtHGSS BWB2W2 An item to be held by a Pokémon. It is a stiff and heavy brace that promotes strong growth but lowers Speed. XYORAS SMUSUMPE SwShBDSPLA An item to be held by a Pokémon. This stiff, heavy brace helps Pokémon grow strong but cuts Speed in battle. SV An item to be held by a Pokémon. Holding this stiff, heavy brace reduces a Pokémon's Speed in battle but allows its stats to grow more quickly.
