Eevee (Japanese: イーブイVMAX EievuiVMAX) is a Colorless-type Pokémon VMAX card. It is one of the SWSH Black Star Promos.
Card text
During your opponent's next turn, if the Defending Pokémon tries to attack, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack doesn't happen.
Release information
This card was released as a SWSH Black Star Promo and was available in the Shining Fates Elite Trainer Box from February 19, 2021. In Japan, it was released as a S-P Promotional card and was first given to people who won rock paper scissors competitions held during V Start Battle ~Get Eevee~ events, which were hosted at participating Pokémon Card Gym venues beginning July 23, 2020. These events required players to purchase or bring in one of the V Starter Decks at a venue and use it in games.[1] It was given away again in the same manner at two other Pokémon Card Gym events. The first of these was the V Starter Deck Beginner Enhanced Battle, which began on December 5, 2020 and ran for as long as stocks lasted. These events required players to purchase two Shiny Star V booster packs at a venue and integrate at least one card into an existing V Starter Deck.[2] The next event was the Deck As Is Battle ~Get Eevee~, which began on July 21, 2021 and ran for as long as stocks lasted. These events required players to use one of the V Starter Decks or one of the decks included in the Sword & Shield Era Family Pokémon Card Game set (and by extension, the streamlined Family Pokémon Card Game Anytime, Anywhere set) in a game.[3] The Japanese print features the V Starter Deck logo.
Trivia
Origin
This card features Gigantamax Eevee. G-Max Cuddle is a G-Max Move in the Pokémon games that Gigantamax Eevee can use, and its TCG effect is likely a reference to the infatuation status condition caused by G-Max Cuddle in the games (with both effects causing the opponent to have a 50% chance of failing to attack).
