Wyndon

Upon leaving the 'Rose of the Rondelands' hotel, Piers is waiting outside for you so he can show you how to get to Rose Tower to find Leon. Talk to him, and Hop, Marnie, and Team Yell will join you. But, before you can set off, Chairman Rose’s secretary Oleana will interrupt you. Oleana informs you that Rose and Leon are having an important meeting which must go undisturbed, and that only those with a special access key are able to ride the monorail to Rose Tower in the first place anyway. She gives the key to a member of the League Staff, who is identical to the others bar a different pair of sunglasses, to make sure that no-one can obtain it. Take Piers up on his offer to go to the plaza to start looking for him.

You can find the Staff member staring into a wall to the right of the station, with a Team Yell Grunt trying to get him to turn around. Surprise him and he’ll break cover and challenge you to a battle. After the first turn, Marnie and Team Yell will cheer you on, giving you a two-stage boost to your Speed.

If you beat him, he’ll run off and hide again. This time, he’s to the west of the statue in the plaza, pretending to be part of a three-way conversation. Marnie and Team Yell will cheer you on again at the end of the first turn, this time boosting both Defense and Special Defense by two stages each.

Eric will hide again when you win - keep heading west and you’ll find him holed up in the phone booth. You’ll get another cheer after the first turn of battle, this time granting a two-stage boost to both your Attack and Special Attack.

After his third defeat, Eric scarpers into the station, and after following him in Piers breaks out into an impromptu concert in the concourse, allowing you, Hop, and Marnie to grab the key in all the confusion caused and take the monorail to Rose Tower.

Rose Tower

Rose Tower

Upon arrival at Rose Tower, Marnie and the newly-arrived Piers agree to wait by the entrance to help stand guard, allowing you and Hop to proceed up Rose Tower. Before you can do so, you’ll be challenged by a staff member preventing you from going any further, although with just a Durant, this battle shouldn’t be an issue.

Elijah will stand aside once you defeat him, so step into the giant elevator to ascend the tower. Before you can reach the top, you’ll be challenged by Macro Cosmos members trying to thwart your charge upwards, and will have to win three Double Battles, where you’ll be partnered by Hop, who uses his Dubwool, Corviknight, and whichever first partner Pokémon he selected, all with the same movesets as the Semifinal battle (except for Dubwool, which has forgotten Cotton Guard). All the staff members use Steel-type Pokémon, so use your Fire, Fighting, and Ground types to combat them. Hop will handily heal you both between battles, making things easier for you.

When you reach the top, you’ll find that rather than Leon or Rose, Oleana awaits you. She vows not to let you go any further and interfere with the Chairman’s plans, and you’ll be thrust into another battle.

Oleana’s team is quite type diverse, and each Pokémon poses its own problems. Froslass can Double Team to make it tricky to hit; Tsareena’s Attract can make attacking a coin flip; the Salazzle is a strong Special Attacker; and the Milotic has the Ability Competitive, which boosts its Special Attack by two stages if it gets a stat drop. With Safeguard, Aqua Ring, and Recover, combined with strong natural bulk, this Milotic has the ability to start sweeping if you accidentally trigger the Ability.

Oleana will Gigantamax her ace, Garbodor, at the first opportunity. It has solid Defense, Special Defense, and HP, so can likely survive a non-super-effective hit, and the Ability Weak Armor will decrease Defense and increase Speed when hit by a physical move, so be wary when using physical attackers as it might outspeed you after a turn or two.

Upon your victory, Oleana chastises herself for not being able to win, but tells you that it doesn’t matter anyway, as Rose has all the Wishing Stars he needs. You’ll find Rose in conversation with Leon, telling the Champion about an impending energy crisis - in a thousand years, anyway. Rose is insistent his plan must begin immediately, with Leon imploring the Chairman to delay until after the Championship tomorrow. Leon and Rose tell you not to worry, and Leon promises to actually take you to dinner, with Rose, now alone, ominously vowing to change the course of history.

You pick things up back at the hotel the next day, where a League staff member will greet you and Hop to take you to the Stadium, so you can begin the Finals of the Champion Cup.
