About This Position
The Account Executive position supports HaptX’s efforts to sell across verticals with broad exposure and drive to develop accounts across enterprise, academic institutions, government agencies, and NGO entities.
Your experience identifying leads, educating prospects, and creating technology solutions will help these organizations with their VR training and simulation projects and personal robotics avatar implementation. Building on our existing relationships across industries and disciplines, and with all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, many federal agencies and contractors, you will develop relationships, create and pursue opportunities to win new contracts. To accomplish your goals, you will work closely with your sales colleagues, hardware and software engineering, marketing, finance, and sales fulfillment teams, as well as our worldwide network of value-added resellers. This is a work-from-home position that can be located nearly anywhere in the U.S. with a stable internet connection and proximity to an airport. If you are in the Seattle, WA or San Luis Obispo, CA regions, an office location will be provided.
This position is eligible for HaptX’s sales incentive program, details provided upon hire.
Key Responsibilities
As an Account Executive, you are a key business leader at HaptX, reporting to the Vice President of Sales. You will:
- Help in the planning, management, development and implementation of the company’s sales efforts, including strategy, tools and tactics.
- Assist in setting detailed annual strategic business plans including growth forecasts and performance goals for customer market segments.
- Leverage current relationships and develop new relationships with enterprise and government stakeholders including budget owners, procurement offices, end users, IT departments, SMEs, and more.
- Use your skills, toolsets, relationships, and databases to identify opportunities.
- Travel to trade shows, conferences, military bases, and other customer sites to demonstrate HaptX products and gain first-hand understanding of organization needs and requirements.
- Estimated travel 50-75%.
- Use market intelligence and customer feedback to drive sales strategy and make recommendations regarding product features, pricing, and distribution.
- Support contracting opportunities, drafting proposals, participating in industry and professional organizations.
- Develop expertise in HaptX product(s), haptics, and haptic solutions for VR training and robotics.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience selling technology solutions.
- Proven track record of success supporting customers and exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and win government contracts.
- Customer-focused professional with outstanding interpersonal skills, problem solving, cross-team collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Goal-oriented and driven individual with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and customers simultaneously.
- Ability to articulate features and benefits of HaptX products, as well as communicate value HaptX can create for the customer’s business.
- Experience with tools for managing customer relationships including sales pipeline.
- Team player with a friendly, positive attitude. Comfortable wearing multiple hats and have genuine willingness to help out and devise a solution where help is needed.
- Humble, coachable, eager to learn and grow from feedback.
- Resourceful, adaptable, able to find solutions and thrive in a rapidly evolving and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills and Experience
- 5-8 years of experience selling technology solutions
- 5 years of building a book of business, with demonstrated track record of closing deals across various business verticals which may include enterprise, government, academic, and NGOs.
- 3 years selling solutions to Defense Primes and/or aerospace industry.
- BA/BS/MS in Business Administration or Engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree)
- Experience with VR/AR hardware and/or robotics.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to:
- Continuously stand or walk
- Bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
- Travel and transport hard plastic cases which weigh up to 70 lbs. each, without help
