Trashichhodzong, or the Fortress of the Glorious Religion, is situated near Thimphu on the Wang Chhu River. It was built in 1641 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and later renovated by the third King of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, using traditional methods. Today, the Dzong houses the Office of the King and hosts the Chief Abbot and clergy in the northern section during the summer months. 📸 benrich__ (IG) #Trashichhodzong #Thimphu #Bhutanbelieve #Bhutan #BhutanTourism #VisitBhutan #TourismBhutan #BhutanDiaries #BhutanTravel #Believe

Developing & promoting sustainable travel experiences in Bhutan for the benefit of the Kingdom, its people & all guests.
About us
In a world that is always on, Bhutan offers sanctuary. It offers earthly pleasures: archery and age-old crafts, dishes of homemade cheese and fearsomely hot chilli, breathtaking treks and restorative hot stone baths. But there's another Bhutan, too, that's hinted at by the prayer flags strung across gorges and fluttering on every hillside. It's where irreverent humour meets deeply held beliefs, and epic landscapes and slow journeys create room for quiet awe. It offers wellbeing and wonder, and exhilarating adventure. More than 70% forested, and one of a handful of carbon neutral countries in the world, it's also planting the seeds of science and tech innovation. There isn't just one Bhutan to discover; there are many. From storied cities to soaring mountains, the door to the kingdom is open once again to old and new friends. Welcome to Bhutan.

Prayer wheels are cylindrical objects covered in Buddhist mantras, available in various sizes from small handheld versions to larger ones. Turning a prayer wheel helps focus and calm the mind, and while chanting the mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hung' is preferred, simply turning the wheel is also beneficial. The wheel should be turned slowly and gently clockwise, with a focus on compassion, to enhance inner peace and spirituality. 📸mattdutile (IG) #Bhutanbelieve #Bhutan #BhutanTourism #VisitBhutan #TourismBhutan #BhutanDiaries #BhutanTravel #Believe
