After an inspiring afternoon of corporate visits to Suzano and Bayer, the 22 Swiss and Brazilian sciencepreneurs gathered at the Official Swiss Residence in São Paulo for the #AIT10 Celebration Night! 🎉 They connected with innovation leaders, celebrated a decade of AIT, and shared success stories that spotlight the transformative power of collaboration. 🌱At Bayer, participants explored the future of agriculture and nutrition in Brazil with insights into open innovation to tackle industry challenges and drive sustainable solutions. Later, at Suzano, the world’s largest pulp producer, they learned about Brazil’s Corporate Venture Capital scene, with valuable lessons on pitching to CVCs and fostering sustainability. 🎉 After these enriching sessions, the evening reached a high point at the Official Swiss Residence in São Paulo with the AIT 10 Celebration Night! This special gathering fostered meaningful connections between the AIT participants and leaders from the Brazilian startup ecosystem. ⚡️ Opening remarks were shared by Pierre Hagmann (Suíça no Brasil), Vânia Gomes da Silva (Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação), and Larissa Hess (Swissnex in Brazil). An insightful panel discussion then honored 10 Years of AIT, featuring Isabela Temístocles (Swissnex in Brazil), Dr. Rocío Robinson-Wiedemann (Institute of Management in Latin America - University of St.Gallen, Vânia Gomes da Silva, and Renata Bannitz Fernandes (AIT Alumni and Ambassador), showcasing AIT’s success and impact in Brazil. 🤝 A heartfelt thank you to the General Consul of Switzerland in São Paulo, Pierre Hagmann, for hosting this memorable evening and to our partners and attendees for their invaluable contributions. ⭐️ Day 2 of the AIT 10th Edition: diving into innovation and research Yesterday afternoon, we explored the STATE Innovation Center—a dynamic hub in the Brazilian startup ecosystem with over 1.5k members, where innovation meets purpose. Our participants connected with startups exchanged ideas with STATE Innovation Center residents (Plug and Play Tech Center), and gained insights from ecosystem leaders like Renata Torres, Jorge Pacheco, Olívia Boretti, Gabriela Aguiar, and Manon Dussaud. This was a valuable introduction to how BBrazil'stech and business communities come together to tackle urban challenges. 🌆💡 This morning, we delved deeper into BBrazil'sinnovation landscape with a visit to IPT - Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas (Institute for Technological Research), a pioneer in technological advancements since 1899. Our participants learned about opportunities for science-based startups in fields like Bio/Nanotech, Digital Tech, Decarbonization, Health & Life Sciences, and more. The program included sessions led by Alex Vallone, Filipe Da Silva, and Felipe Matos 🌈, followed by an inspiring pitch session and site visits to Bionano, Espaço Maker IPT, and Inteli. 🌍✨ Thrilled to Represent DAAV at the Infrastructure Forum in São Paulo! ✨🌍 Last week, I had the honor of representing DAAV at the Infrastructure Forum hosted at the UBS offices in São Paulo, organized by Swissnex in Brazil. Presenting DAAV’s vision for a sustainable and inclusive mobility future was an incredible opportunity to share how we’re working to drive transformative change in the mobility sector. 👩🦼➡️💡🌱 The event brought together an impressive array of experts, innovators, and decision makers—each passionate about reshaping infrastructure to be more resilient, accessible, and green. From inspiring keynote presentations to insightful panel discussions, the day was filled with ideas that left me inspired and motivated. Connecting with leaders in sustainability and infrastructure development has deepened my commitment to DAAV's mission. The second day of the Infrastructure Forum Brazil-Switzerland 2024 continued to deliver powerful insights and discussions with top-level experts and companies from Brazil and Switzerland. 🚆⚡ Here's a recap of yesterday's highlights: 🔷 Water and wastewater management took center stage as panelists from BNDES, Sabesp, and Swiss companies such as GWF AG and Grupo Endress Hauser discussed the pathway to universal access to clean water by 2033. Precision in measurement and monitoring was emphasized as key to managing Brazil's vast water resources. 🔷 Decarbonizing the waste sector: Experts from São Paulo's Environmental Secretariat shared groundbreaking strategies to reduce methane emissions and transform solid waste into energy, providing actionable solutions for one of the most pressing environmental challenges. 🔷 Transport decarbonization was a key focus, with companies like Stadler and Grupo CCR discussing future projects and solutions to reduce emissions in Brazil's passenger transport systems. 🔷 The aviation and maritime sectors also had the spotlight today. Experts from Swiss International Air Lines, Zurich Airport Brasil, and Empa discussed solutions to decarbonize aviation, while representatives from MSC and Portonave explored how the maritime sector is evolving to become more sustainable. 🌱 🇨🇭🤝🇧🇷 As we closed Day 2, it was clear that the collaboration between Brazil and Switzerland is driving innovative solutions across a range of sectors, ensuring a more sustainable future for all. Yesterday marked an exciting first day of the Infrastructure Forum Brazil-Switzerland 2024 ⚡️, bringing together high-level experts, industry leaders, and decision-makers to explore the future of sustainable infrastructure. 🌍 Take a look at the key takeaways from yesterday's discussions: 🇨🇭🤝🇧🇷 Opening remarks by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Brazil, Pietro Lazzeri, and the Country Head UBS Brazil, Daniel Bassan, were followed by insightful contributions from the State Secretary for Economic Affairs of Switzerland, Helene Budliger Artieda and Minister Rui Costa from Brazil, sharing their respective countries' perspectives on infrastructure development and economic growth. 🌱 Valter Correia presented COP30's roadmap, outlining Brazil's ambitious plans for sustainability in light of the upcoming global event.
