Brazil held its first international event for the 2024/25 commercial year in India. The Cotton Brazil Outlook seminar took place on September 13th in the capital, New Delhi, for business leaders, investors, and government officials involved in the Indian textile industry. The event was jointly organized by ABRAPA (Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers) with the support of ANEA (National Association of Cotton Exporters), APEX Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the local consultancy Wazir Advisors, and the Brazilian Embassy in India, and presented the Indian textile industry players with information, data, and figures on Brazilian cotton, with a focus on expanding the market. Brazil held its first Cotton Brazil Outlook seminar in India last Friday, September 13th, to strengthen commercial ties with India and showcase Brazilian cotton—sustainable, certified, and high-quality—to business leaders, investors, and government officials within the Indian textile industry. The Brazilian delegation included Abrapa’s President Alexandre Pedro Schenkel ANEA’s President Miguel Faus, Abrapa’s Vice President Celestino Zanella and Abrapa’s Director of International Relations Marcelo Duarte Monteiro and also, was supported by the consulting firm Wazir Advisors and the Brazilian Embassy in India. As the world’s second-largest cotton consumer, India is one of Brazil's priority markets. One of Cotton Brazil’s objectives is to demonstrate how Brazilian cotton can help enhance the global competitiveness of India’s textile industry by offering a high-quality product at competitive prices. "In recent years, we have expanded our presence in the international market with cotton cultivated with socio-environmental responsibility. Over 80% of our crop is certified and of high quality. It is contamination-free and 100% traceable,” stated Abrapa President Alexandre Pedro Schenkel. The seminar also featured a Q&A session, allowing participants to interact with executives about Brazilian cotton and industry experts.
