Our CTO Georgi Kostadinov and CEO Georgi Kadrev had the rewarding opportunity to lead a workshop with bright students from across the globe, as part of the conference day of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) '24.
40 nationally accredited teams representing 35 countries took part in the inaugural edition of the event, which coincidentally happened in the beautiful hometown of Georgi Kostadinov - Burgas, with the support of the local municipality.
Bulgaria has a tradition of initiating and hosting multiple competitions that have become the pinnacle of testing the STEM skills of high school students, such as the international olympiads in informatics and linguistics a few decades ago.
This time props go to Elena Marinova and Aleksandar Velinov, PMP®, CSM®, MBA for being the main initiators of IOAI.
Our co-founders Georgi & Georgi talked about the applications of AI in transforming healthcare.
Kadrev started with a brief history of Imagga and its spin-off Kelvin Health and the fundamental role AI has played in the creation and the success of both ventures.
Kostadinov then lead an extensive workshop explaining in detail, and then going through the training of, convolutional neural networks with medical datasets. It even ate a bit of the time for lunch, as the students were eager to keep experimenting with the provided virtual access to our recently acquired supercomputer.
We are excited about the future of these talented kids and wish them positively impactful AI journeys ahead!
Gold medals and special awards in the different categories went to teams from Letovo, Poland, Singapore, Bulgaria, Poland, Australia, USA, Poland, and Hungary.
