Discover eFirst, the online platform enabling law enforcement first responders to handle these cases effectively. eFirst equips police officers with the necessary skills and knowledge about cybercrime & digital forensics, enabling them to tackle cybercrime in the field, at crime scenes, during house searches, or when receiving the victim’s initial complaint. It covers complex topics such as online #CSAM, #DarkWeb & #cryptocurrencies, serving as a valuable awareness tool for first responders. eFirst is available free of charges to all law enforcement agencies and is already being used by European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) and in Ireland, Belgium, Finland, Germany & Poland. The platform is developed by ECTEG, a non-profit organisation gathering 30 law enforcement agencies from 20 European countries, international bodies, and academia. 🔗 October is cybersecurity month. European Commission helps EU countries bring the #MigrationPact to life. National authorities can request guidance and support from the EU Technical Support Instrument. It will provide tailor made expertise for the implementation of national plans, reforms, and the use of #EUfunds. For instance, it will help with: • Situational analysis • Mapping of good practices • Strategy and action planning • Legal and regulatory recommendations • Operational capacity and needs assessment • Policy coordination • Monitoring and evaluation • Digitalisation of procedures and access to services • Institutional and capacity building • Communication 📅 Deadline: 31 October. For many years, adults with disabilities in Lithuania 🇱🇹 - particularly those with mental or intellectual disabilities - have been living in institutional care, isolated from their communities. In response, the national Agency for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities initiated the project "From Care to Possibilities," aiming to develop new community-based services. Supported by the European Social Fund, the pilot project was implemented across 36 municipalities, laying the groundwork for a nationwide transition from institutional care to community inclusion. ⚠ Trafficking in human beings is a horrible crime with life-long consequences for victims. Often hidden and invisible, it’s crucial to raise awareness about it not only on #EUAntiTraffickingDay, but every day. 🔎 One impactful initiative is the #EUfunded project WESTEROS 2, which focuses on prevention and law enforcement cooperation in Romania, Belgium, Poland, and Spain. Key achievements include: Training & Capacity Building: Over 158 law enforcement professionals received specialized training, including prosecutors, judges, and police officers who learned advanced hearing techniques for victims of human trafficking. Agenția Națională împotriva Traficului de Persoane Financial Investigations: Training sessions to equip law enforcement officers with modern financial investigation techniques to disrupt the trafficking business model. The WESTEROS 2 has laid the groundwork for long-term cooperation between law enforcement agencies across Europe. Partners continue to share information on trafficking networks and criminal assets, reinforcing joint investigation teams and special investigative techniques. Ending human trafficking is EU's priority. Every person’s contribution could be decisive in the fight #EUvsHumanTrafficking.
