Aramis CCS project congratulates CO2next with an important milestone: the project entered the so-called Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. CO2next will play a key role in the CO2 infrastructure and supply chain that is planned to be built in the coming years.   CO2next aims to build a liquid CO2 terminal at the Maasvlakte in the port of Rotterdam, that can be used by customers not connected to a CO2 pipeline to ship liquid CO2. Therefore, the terminal will be a critical piece of CO2 infrastructure which can be leveraged as part of the CCS chain. The technical feasibility and development of such CCS chain is jointly explored with the Aramis CCS project, to which the terminal is connected.    This marks another significant step towards the CCS facilities needed for European decarbonization, essential for achieving its climate targets.   We look forward to jointly grow and strengthen the CO2 infrastructure.   #CO2next #CCS #decarbonization

The #Netherlands has granted permits for the construction and operation of its largest offshore wind farms to date. The permits have been awarded to Noordzeker and @Zeevonk ii, Noordzeker is a consortium that consists of SSE Renewables, Pensioenfonds ABP and APG . Zeevonk II is a consortium that consists of Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. with Noordzeker taking charge of the IJmuiden Ver Wind Farm Site Alpha and Zeevonk II managing the IJmuiden Ver Wind Farm Site Beta. Together, these projects will contribute an impressive 4 gigawatts (GW) of Offshore wind energy capacity, covering approximately 14% of the country’s current electricity consumption. #OffshoreWind #renewableenergy #SSERenewables #Vattenfall #ABP #APG #Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.

Today we'll dive into the role of the Wind Energy Department of the Delft University of Technology in TWAIN. ✍️ For Riccardo Ferrari, the Delft Center for Systems and Control of TU Delft is prepared for the real life analysis of wind farm operations in extreme conditions "as an outcome meant for a wide-public. Today and tomorrow, Delft University of Technology is organizing a symposium on (Re-) Connecting Maritime-Urban Ecosystems. We are honored to have our Managing Director Yvo Saanen deliver the keynote on 'The Evolution of Port Development: Densifying and Automating Ports to Facilitate Port City Life'. During his session, he will discuss how ports have traditionally been at the heart of cities, enabling the efficient flow of exports and imports to and from city inhabitants. However, with increasing pressure on scarce urban space and societal demands for reduced noise, emissions, and light pollution, ports are now being forced to minimize their footprint, adopt more sustainable operational modes, and, in some cases, relocate outside of urban areas. Moreover, traditional port jobs are becoming less popular due to their shift-based, round-the-clock nature, which limits opportunities for social interaction. To remain appealing, port jobs must evolve—allowing for remote work, fostering social interaction, and attracting younger generations. Modern ports are moving in this direction by embracing technology, automating heavy tasks through robotics, and introducing remote control and automation. The next phase involves full digitization, eliminating large amounts of repetitive manual administrative work and capitalizing on the power of process automation and artificial intelligence. #portdevelopment #digitization #terminals
