The quality committee on chronic care consists of high level representatives of professional associations (physicians, pharmacists, nurses, hospitals, elderly & home care), patient organizations, health insurance companies, universities and government. The goal of the committee is to translate scientific reports & recommendations on chronic care into a Belgian health policy plan by 2020.

The Steering Committee on Transmural Care advices the federal Health Care administration on development and implementation of quality improvement projects regarding transmural care. The Steering Committee aims to contribute to the concept of high quality and patient-centred and integrated care, adapted to the Belgian context. Additionally, the steering committee reflects on how to support hospitals with the development and implementation of integrated care (projects).
