📸 WeForming at the IEEE 15th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (#PEDG2024) in 🇱🇺Luxembourg this week Ioannis Mandourarakis from EUROPEAN DYNAMICS presented the WeForming project and took part in a panel session about “𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴”, alongside Nikos Bilidis from i-STENTORE and Giovanni De Carne from RF2.0 Project. WeForming’s innovative approach is pivotal in accelerating the transformation of Europe’s building stock, by focusing on intelligent building technologies, policy integration, and new business models. 🏡 Intelligent Grid-Forming Buildings (iGFBs): By transforming buildings from passive consumers to active participants in the energy grid, WeForming introduces smart technologies that enhance energy efficiency and integrate renewable energy sources seamlessly by employing sophisticated data analytics and AI 📝 Policy and regulatory integration: WeForming works closely with stakeholders to align renovation practices with the latest policies and regulations, promoting standards that support deep renovation goals. 💶 Business model innovation: The project develops new business models, including innovative financing schemes and service models, to make deep renovation economically viable and attractive for building owners and investors. Through 6 pilots, WeForming showcases scalable models for deep renovation, encouraging wider adoption across the EU. These models demonstrate the benefits of integrating electrified technologies and renewable solutions in building renovations.
