🚀 Episode 5 of the "Code & Cure: Understanding #InSilicoMedicine" Video Series is now live! Did you know that before a new #drug or medical device hits the market, it undergoes years of rigorous testing, with only 1 in 10 making the cut? Pre-clinical and #ClinicalTrials are essential but come at a high cost in time and resources. In this episode, we dive into how computer-simulated trials - better known as in silico trials - are transforming the landscape of #healthcare #innovation by using virtual populations based on real patients. By reducing the need for traditional animal and human testing, #InSilicoTrials can speed up innovation, cut costs, and promote faster access to treatments for patients. This episode emphasizes the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to bring these advancements to life. Check it out now and explore the future of #MedicalResearch! #InSilicoMedicine wouldn't be possible without many supporting technologies. Medical imaging, like CT scanners, allows the creation of digital copies of body structures. #Supercomputers handle the vast data and calculations for complex simulations, enabling personalised predictions. Virtual and augmented reality further enhance #medical applications, allowing surgeons to virtually practice and test surgical procedures. In the 4th episode of the "Code & Cure: Understanding #InSilicoMedicine", a brand new series produced by #VPHi, we explore how medical imaging, supercomputers, and virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR) contribute to it.
