Lowering our impact on the environment is key to achieving our sustainability goals. Our colleagues in Korea started an initiative that repurposed materials that would eventually become waste. An inspiring initiative on the importance of #upcycling and giving new life to used materials.

Kedar Rele, our Managing Director for Automotive Catalyst India, participated to a roundtable to share how Umicore is contributing towards sustainable development with local actions. Our automotive catalysts contribute to cleaner air, our expertise contribute to setting-up Indian recycling standards, and we are actively involved in nearby hospitals and schools to give back to people and planet . We are proud to support Mamas for Africa's remarkable efforts to help women and girls in eastern Congo who face sexual and gender-based violence by offering counseling while also working on preventing violence, raising awareness, supporting families and mediating conflicts. Through their valuable work, over 2,900 women and girls have received medical and psychological help, while awareness campaigns have reached nearly 35,000 people.
