🚀 The GMEC ENDEL-TRACTEBEL consortium launches its intervention to replace the primary circuit component at the Blayais nuclear site! The intervention carried out by ALTRAD ENDEL has been prepared and supported by Tractebel. 🎉 ALTRAD ENDEL site teams organised two weeks ago an event to celebrate the beginning of the intervention to replace the C elbow of Unit 3's loop 3 at the Blayais nuclear power plant in France. Tractebel's Chief Global Nuclear Officer Denis Dumont participated in the event. ⚛ As part of the long-term operation programme of the French nuclear fleet (“grand carénage”), Tractebel is supporting EDF to replace components of the primary loop damaged by thermal ageing. Our experts carried out mechanical studies and advanced civil works to prepare the intervention at Blayais. 👷♂️ 👩💼 Several Tractebel team members are on site until September during the intervention. They will take an active part in monitoring on-site activities. Experts and calculators are still involved and will be on call during crucial moments. 🤝 Close collaboration between ENDEL, Tractebel and the subcontractors with the client EDF's nuclear fleet engineering division (DIPDE) and nuclear power generation centre (CNPE) has been and will be key to the success. Foi uma experiência enriquecedora compartilhar esse momento com uma turma tão engajada e aprender com as diversas perspectivas apresentadas. Gostaria de expressar meus agradecimentos à World Nuclear University, e em especial a Sama Bilbao y Leon, Isis Leslie, Raquel Heredia Silva e Karyna Zamari, pela acolhida calorosa e pelo excelente trabalho na organização do evento. It was an enriching experience to share this moment with such an engaged class and to learn from the diverse perspectives presented. ⚛ Training nuclear engineers for the future! Twenty Tractebel engineers graduated from the Nuclear Trainees' Programme's 16th edition organised by the Nuclear Business Unit of ENGIE Belgium Electrabel.   👩🎓 The graduation ceremony took place on 30 May in Brussels, Belgium. Lorraine Mertens, Nuclear HR Head, Denis Dumont, Chief Global Nuclear Officer and Xavier Delhaye, Nuclear Technical Director, presented the graduates who were physically present with their diplomas.   👨🔬 This programme's edition lasted around 18 months and was tailored to align with Tractebel's business strategies and priorities. The subjects included nuclear safety, long-term operation, waste and decommissioning, medical applications, Small Modular Reactors, fusion, European Pressurized Reactor, and neutronics. ⚛ Tractebel sponsored the Nuclear Innovation Conference 2024 organised by NRG|PALLAS in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 5-6 June! 💡 Eleonora Lambridis, Head of Innovation Lab, delivered a speech about how our company's innovations can help streamline the deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). SMRs are Smaller, Simpler and Standardized Modular Reactors.
