🌞 SuPerTandem was showcased at Intersolar Europe 2024 (June 19-21) at Messe Muenchen in Munich, Germany. This exhibition & conference is part of the continent's largest energy industry exhibition alliance and attracts thousands of visitors annually. This year's exhibition showcased the latest advancements in #photovoltaics, solar thermal technologies, solar plants, and grid infrastructure and our partners TNO and SALD BV were part of it! 🤝 The conference covered key topics like market trends, large-scale power plants, #sustainability, and modern agricultural and floating PV applications. Highlights included the Intersolar Forum, PV Manufacturing Stage, and special exhibits on agricultural PV. 👩🌾

☀ Last week was #super busy with the first interim review of SuPerTandem - this time we brought the sun to Eindhoven! Halfway through the project, we met on 6 June to present our progress to CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency and to receive as much constructive feedback as possible on how to achieve the ambitious goals of the project 💪. Partners were proud of their results and are determined to continue pushing all the performance limits of #flexible #perovskite #tandem #modules in the second half of the project! 👏 And of course what project meeting would it be, if we didn't get the chance to visit some labs? 👩🔬 So thank you - Eindhoven University of Technology, TNO, and SALD BV- for the warm welcome and for showing us the city's topnotch #research #environment! The revolutionary project seeks to develop flexible perovskite tandem modules exceeding a 30% efficiency level, produced through scalable and cost-effective processes. Perovskite tandem solar cells are the result of layering two perovskite compositions with varied band gaps on top of each other, allowing for theoretically higher efficiency. Last week, Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE organized their spring PhD School on Perovskite PV🌼. This event is tailored for PhD students and early-stage researchers and co-organized by the #TESTARE and DIAMOND Horizon EU Project. 🤝 It is a unique opportunity for exploration, learning, and networking with #top #industry and #research #experts. This year, SuPerTandem had the privilege to be featured in the presentation by Fan Fu (Empa), who held a lecture on "All-Perovskite Tandem Photovoltaics". In his presentation, he highlighted his group’s recent research effort, focusing on #upscaling high-performance #perovskite-based #thinfilm tandem solar cells on #flexible #substrates. 🆕 Thank you for the representation and your work on the project!

In January, our coordinator Sjoerd Veenstra (TNO) presented an interesting talk on the #Thin #Film #Innovations for #Cleantech at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, which introduced the creative ivy-shaped solar panel system integrated into the façade of one of their buildings, to show the potential of how we can clad various existing buildings in our landscape with visually appealing #solar panels, enabling us to generate more #solarenergy 🏙 ☀. #renewable #renewablenergy #innovation #pv #photovoltaic
