Modifications to the landing gear and internal electronics within the Eiger drone's structure will add functionalities like automatic charging and cargo loading. 🔑Key to success is the tight collaboration between partners, ensuring the droneport system is perfectly aligned with the drone's core technology, incorporating a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) for optimal power management and quick charging capabilities directly through the landing gear. Breaking new ground in unmanned aviation! ✨ At SAFIR-Ready, as part of the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking, we are committed to transforming the landscape of drone delivery and unmanned flights. 🌍 Within this initiative, project partner RigiTech is developing extensive enhancements to the API of their networked drone control software RigiCloud. This API allows 3rd party control systems to receive critical flight data and even send commands to RigiTech's Eiger delivery drone system while ensuring full certifications and security.📡🛠️ Working towards this new integration, Eiger drone operators will soon be able to conduct and oversee #BVLOS operations directly from their software suite, including comprehensive telemetry and flight path management. Moving forward to 2025, we aim to offer advanced features like camera feed integration, BVLOS manual control, and sophisticated DCP local messaging. Supported by the European Commission through #horizoneurope, SAFIR-Ready is pushing the boundaries of technology to include more complex systems and ensure that innovation encompasses all aspects of aviation. Integrating software systems sometimes requires getting up close and personal with the hardware. For the NSX - Normalized Systems engineers working on the SAFIR-Ready project, this means visiting project partner 🤝Avercon to integrate the Drone Cargo Port, which is currently undergoing integration tests 🛫 🙏 Thanks to the great specification work carried out by our project coordinators at Helicus and strict adherence to the principles of the Normalized Systems Theory, Vlad Goguta was able to slay this giant of integration in half a day! 💪 A welcome change of pace after weeks of precise and dedicated work in building an interface that will stand the test of time and keep the Helicus ecosystem up and running well into the future. Establishing a link between a #Siemens PLC system and a cloud-based Command and Control center in a way that guarantees uptime and cybersecurity is no mean feat. One of the functional drivers of the link between #Uspace services and safe uncrewed flights is the concept of flight plan adherence. Advanced #USSP services allow the operator to specify the individual segments of their mission, allowing for higher utilization of the airspace. 🚀 In order to leverage this, the aircraft needs to adhere to a relatively strict piece of airspace, which will change during the flight as the flight progresses. This is analogous to the concept of flight legs in traditional aviation. Currently, no major autopilot system is capable of supporting these 'timed' flights. ➡ This is where the Command-and-Control Centre developed by project partners NSX - Normalized Systems and Helicus comes into play. By deploying smart adapters on board of the aircraft, we can monitor and measure this 'Flight Plan Adherence', and automatically adjust the mission within the performance envelope of the aircraft platform.
