#MBSE at its Finest! RHEA Group we're thrilled to announce the latest advancements in #MBSE with the release of the #MBSE tools CDP4 COMET https://lnkd.in/enWbRp27 and The Capella Adapter https://lnkd.in/eVr4r5cp. With this release, we've significantly extended the #interoperability between our E-TM-10-25 implementation and #Capella through the Capella Adapter. The Capella Adapter facilitates seamless mapping of CDP4 COMET elements (including element definitions, element usages, relationships, and requirements) to both the Logical and Physical Architecture of Capella, and vice versa. This breakthrough bridges the gap between functional, logical, and physical model design. Now supporting Capella 6.x versions, Option mapping, and much more, we're excited to empower #MBSE practitioners with enhanced capabilities for their projects.

Congratulations to ESA Operations, Engineering & Space Safety on this well-deserved award. From the the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Spain, we are proud to play an active part in the #Euclid mission, coordinating activities in its Scientific Archive System, which distributes data from the mission to the scientific community.

🏆 Euclid mission team receives Space Foundation’s 2024 Space Achievement Award The Euclid mission team was awarded this year’s prestigious Space Achievement Award by the Space Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded in 1983 to foster collaboration across the global space community. Yesterday, ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher and ESA Director of Science Professor Carole Mundell collected the prize at the Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, USA. The Space Foundation recognised the partnership between European Space Agency - ESA and the Euclid Consortium for their forward-thinking approach to global collaboration and team work to advance humankind’s understanding of the Universe. #ESA_Euclid is a European mission, operated by ESA from its European Space Operations Centre #ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Still in its first year, the teams at #MissionControl have successfully supported the spacecraft through its LEOP, the commissioning phase including resolving Fine Guidance Sensor issues and the data transfers leading to Euclid’s stunning first images. Just recently, the mission team came together across teams and locations to come up with a highly successful plan to de-ice Euclid’s optics implemented by the Flight Control Team at ESOC – showing once again they truly deserve the award. The Euclid mission is a scientific endeavour involving more than 300 institutes from 13 European countries and the USA, Canada and Japan. It has been made possible by the work and dedication of more than 3500 people and thanks to the expertise of 80 companies from 21 countries. 👏👏 Congratulations to the Euclid team of teams!! 👏👏 📸 Credit: Space Foundation

On the International Day of Forests, how can space play a major role in helping identify and tackle deforestation? 🌳 Satellites have been used for decades to monitor the loss of ancient forests using space-based technologies, helping inform and provide researchers, governments, farmers and industry with the information they need to act more effectively in tackling this crisis. 🛰 In this article, Klaus Scipal, the European Space Agency - ESA’s Mission Manager for Biomass, explains how the Biomass satellite, launching next year, will provide critical information to researchers and governments to help protect and expand our remaining forests. https://lnkd.in/efcgV5Nf #deforestation #biomass #biodiversity #InternationalDayOfForests

As we head towards another solar activity cycle peak around 2025, a significant amount of work is being undertaken to improve our ability to predict and provide early warnings of space weather events. In the longer term, the European Space Agency - ESA's Vigil mission will be one of the key programmes monitoring these types of activities around the Sun, and between the Sun and Earth. Read more about what organizations must do to improve their resilience to the impact of space weather: https://lnkd.in/etYWQZ9R #SpaceWeather

💡 Why we should care more about #SpaceWeather now than ever before Solar activity can seriously impact life and technology on Earth. Extreme eruptions can for example damage ground-based power grids and disable orbiting satellites. Many more vital capabilities and services rely on satellites now compared to just a few decades ago, especially in areas like telecommunication and navigation. This increased dependence amplifies the potential impact of space weather storms. The same solar activity would cause much more damage now than at the turn of this century. To respond adequately to hazardous space weather events, industry and local authorities need reliable space weather services comparable to the weather forecasts we all consult in the morning. To this end, ESA’s Space Weather Office maintains and continuously works to improve the ESA Space Weather Service Network: https://swe.ssa.esa.int/ #VigilToKeepWatch The new ESA mission Vigil will greatly improve the ESA Space Weather Service Network’s advanced warnings of incoming space weather storms, providing a new source of near real-time data from its vantage point offset from the Sun-Earth line. This data will be incorporated into advanced modelling and forecasting tools increasing the forecast accuracy and level of detail. This helps provide actionable information to service end users in the timeframe they need. More on Vigil: https://lnkd.in/edhuS5Eu 📸 #SpaceSafetyCentre, ESA/J.Mai The Space Safety Centre at #ESOC is a dynamic environment hosting space weather instrument performance monitoring to provide relevant space weather information to the missions operated by ESA.

Starion Group Chief Commercial and Technology Officer

Hi all, If you didn't get a chance to follow the panel session about 'The underestimated threat of cyber attacks and how it affects national space capabilities' at #spacecommexpo2024, here are some of the topics that the panel covered. Thinking about the vulnerabilities and solutions, the cybersecurity threats are almost the same to space infrastructure as they are to terrestrial infrastructure, obviously both have their peculiarities, but they are so intertwined that we can’t see them as separate. The solutions to cybersecurity are not necessarily/exclusively to be found in the technology, but also in being innovative in the concept of operations, the processes you apply. We have to ensure that the full supply and value chain is aware of the cyber threats and the mitigations, and we have to share this information, e.g. via space information sharing and analysis centers. When the panel raised security-by-design I could not resist to emphasize the value of using concurrent design and to include Security as any other engineering domain to recognize and consider security requirements from the start throughout the full life cycle of any programme. Dr Sharon Lèmac-Vincere mentioned the cyber simulator which she and her team are developing as a means to raise awareness, do training and build skilled engineers and professionals of the future. The #rheagroup Cyber Digital Twin, CITEF, is geared to do that by virtualizing and emulating existing (or designs of future) infrastructures and to assess their behavior to cyber threats. I envisage such Cyber Digital Twin in combination with generative AI , generating many, unexpected and innovative attack scenarios and, more importantly, innovative and effective mitigation solutions. New and emerging technologies need to be embraced as a positive opportunity, they are enablers to do what we want to do, and what we need to do, including creating novel solutions against cyber threats. Big thanks to Chuck Brooks, Stefanie Grundner, Dr Sharon Lèmac-Vincere and Richard G. #space #cyber #digitaltwins #qkd #pqc #generativeai
