Building a Circular Future: A Successful ABSolEU General Assembly in Ghent and Citizen Labs in Delft! Following a productive General Assembly in Ghent (2nd-4th July), the #ABSolEU project continued its momentum with a successful second round of Citizen Labs in Delft, Netherlands, last 5th and 6th July! A Very Collaborative and Productive General Assembly: We'd like to express our sincere gratitude to the entire #ABSolEU consortium for their active participation in the General Assembly. A special thanks goes to Trinseo for their exceptional organization of the event, which included the insightful facility tours hosted by both Trinseo and Galloo! 💡 Thriving Citizen Labs in Delft: This second round of Citizen Labs, held at the inspiring The Social Hub in Delft, was a resounding success. This time the Labs featured a revised format to delve deeper into the different activities. Despite this change, participants proved to be incredibly interested and engaged, willingly devoting their time to the activities. A huge thank you to all the enthusiastic participants and to our PI team members for their phenomenal facilitation skills! We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our project partners, Volvo Cars and BIC, and Nathanael Guigo (UCA) for their invaluable contributions to this event. Their support and willingness to be involved were instrumental in its success. 🔍 One more time the Labs provided valuable insights into consumer habits regarding recycled #ABS plastics. Participants actively discussed enablers and challenges associated with proper #disposal and #recycling, while also exploring the formation of #circular value chains through an engaging game! A  big thank you also goes out to La Tricyclette Design for designing and creating an incredible transportable version of the board game used in the Citizen Labs. This innovation will be instrumental in bringing such engaging activity in the future Labs across Europe! 🌲On 4th July, Marc Gramberger and the SUPERB project team at PI had the pleasure of welcoming participants from all over Europe to our online event:  Payment for Biodiversity Schemes: How should forest owners be compensated?🌳 We were delighted to bring together key players in the field, including representatives from EU and national level forest owner associations, national policymakers, investors and nature financing consultants, setting the stage for a fruitful discussion! The event gave us the chance to hear from our SUPERB partners at the University of Copenhagen, Professor Thomas Lundhede and Charlotte Süring and to learn more about their research into financing forest restoration. Charlotte presented fascinating insights from her ongoing study into attitudes towards payment for biodiversity contracts, for which she has surveyed over 3500 Danish and Finnish forest owners. We then focussed on the practical implementation of payment for biodiversity schemes and heard about the many challenges and opportunities this brings from Teresa Baiges Zapater, representing the Forest Ownership Centre Catalonia, Antti Leinonen, representing METSO, and Lucio Brotto, co-founder of ETIFOR. 👏 A big thank you for all the insights and experiences shared by the presenters, panellists and participants, making this a truly interesting exchange. 🙏 🍁 We look forward to hosting an exciting, in-person event in the autumn to explore the theme of forest restoration financing in more depth - stay tuned for further updates! 👀

🌲 Highlights from #IUFRO2024 🌲 We had an incredible experience at the IUFRO World Congress, where some of our Prospex Institute team supported our impactful forestry projects #RESONATE project and SUPERB project, whilst also gaining insights useful for our other forestry projects ForestPaths Project, FORWARDS Project. Being part of such crucial work for the future of forests and societies is truly an honor! It was a great opportunity for our #SUPERB consortium to present together with the demos our joint efforts through diverse posters and presentations, including our work on Advancing Transformative #StakeholderEngagement. 🎊🎉Yesterday, we at Prospex Institute, and especially our WaterLANDS team, celebrated World Peatlands Day. 🙌🎈 🌿The day recognises the wonderful, essential things that peatlands do for us and the Earth: they are our planet's most concentrated natural carbon sinks, acting as havens for rare species and buffering extreme weather events like floods.🌱 💧We are so proud to be a partner on the Horizon 2020 WaterLANDS project, which, especially through its Ireland and UK Action Sites, is working to restore and conserve these crucial ecosystems.🗾 🔍Want to know more?
