Major Milestone for Porto do Açu and Prumo! Yesterday, our partners Porto do Açu and Prumo reached a significant milestone. Prumo and the Norwegian company Fuella announced the first area reservation contract for their hydrogen hub in Açu. This involves a 520 MW green ammonia plant with a production capacity of 400,000 tons per year, set to begin operations in 2030. We’re thrilled to have facilitated introductions between the parties, marking the start of Porto do Açu as a new export gateway in a green corridor from Brazil to Europe. This collaboration is proof that partnerships between ports drive sustainable development across continents. Congratulations to Rogério Zampronha, Eugenio Figueiredo, and Mauro Andrade on this agreement. Many thanks to our colleagues Marcus Ricchezza, Maartje Driessens, Wannes Vincent, and Thorsten Helms for making this happen in record time. #FutureBusiness #GreenHydrogen #CleanEnergy #GreenAmmonia #Sustainability #EnergyInnovation #Prumoday #Portofantwerpbruges #Partnership https://lnkd.in/eSMGnQJq
We are celebrating a pioneering agreement that will accelerate the #energytransition and #decarbonization at Porto do Açu. On #PrumoDay 2024, our CEO, Rogério Zampronha, announced that Porto do Açu, a subsidiary of Prumo Logística, and the Norwegian company Fuella signed the first area reservation contract for the newly licensed low-carbon hydrogen and derivatives hub at the port complex. Additionally, Prumo, Porto do Açu, and Fuella signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for developing a green ammonia plant of up to 520 MW, based on water electrolysis, with a production capacity of 400,000 tons per year, starting in 2030. "This plant will contribute to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy. We have a prepared ecosystem and competitive advantages for the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, both for export and to supply the Brazilian market," says Mauro Andrade, Executive Director of Business Development at Prumo. “This is a landmark agreement for us, in expanding our portfolio of projects internationally, to highly competitive and attractive regions. We believe that Porto do Açu is a fantastic location and partner for us. The winning factors for us were not only the site and the infrastructure in place, but also the dedication, competence, and support of the team,” comments Dr. Thorsten Helms, Managing Director Business & Corporate Development at Fuella. Fuella AS is backed by Allianz Capital Partners, on behalf of Allianz insurance companies, as main investor, one of the world’s leading insurers and investors. The contract and MoU were executed with the support of Port of Antwerp-Bruges International, a strategic partner of Porto do Açu, with the aim of establishing Açu as a new export corridor for green ammonia from Brazil to Europe. #FutureBusiness #GreenHydrogen #CleanEnergy #GreenAmmonia #Sustainability #EnergyInnovation

We were honored to welcome Mr. Peteris Ustubs, Director for the Middle East, Asia, and Pacific at the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), and Mr. Denis Baresch, Minister Counsellor and Head of Trade and Economic Relations, to Lumut. Their visit included an insightful boat tour to witness firsthand the developments of our LUMIC project and receive comprehensive updates on the ongoing EU-funded assessments. The visit provided an excellent platform to showcase the transformative potential of LUMIC. We are excited about how this Global Gateway Flagship initiative is set to turn Lumut into a significant logistical and industrial hub, fostering stronger trade ties between the EU and Malaysia. Our project not only promises economic growth but also aims to enhance infrastructure and create new opportunities in the region. We are grateful for the support from the EU, which has been instrumental in advancing our goals. This collaboration exemplifies the positive impact of international partnerships and the shared commitment to sustainable development. We look forward to hosting our esteemed guests again in the future as our development progresses. #GlobalGateway #Lumic #Lumut #Maleysia #EUinMaleysia
