Scaling nature-based solutions to clean soils from pollution, remove CO2 and enable local circular economy.

About us

At Earth we have a crazy vision! To create the largest soil & CO2 cleanup in history with nature. We scale nature-based solutions to clean soils from chemical pollution, remove CO2 and create local circular economy. Soil contamination impacts the food we eat, the air we breath, the water we drink. Over 3.2B people worldwide are already negatively affected (IPBES). If no action is taken, soil pollution will increasingly impact our ecosystems, health and economies. We aim to manage mid-low chemical soil pollution sites globally. Plants that we grow are very powerful at capturing CO2. From these plants we create safe bio-based circular materials to revolutionise construction. And reduce emissions for companies and cities. Earth is a platform powered in partnership with C-biotech.

🌍 What inspires someone to dedicate their life to sustainability? 🌿 A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to interview Arctic-born climate activist Elena Doms about her work in sustainability. ❄️🏔️ Elena is cofounder of Earth Plus, an environmental organization dedicated to removing forever chemicals from the Earth’s soil and fostering positive environmental change. ✨ During our interview, Elena discussed what inspired her to leave her corporate position to become a full-time sustainability advocate. ♻️What personal experiences or moments have sparked a shift in your own perspective on sustainability? 🌞 #Sustainability #ClimateAction #EarthPlus

“Our planet is being rushed into an emergency room with systems failure. And being treated with band-aids.” First ever Planetary Health Check - announced at NY Climate Week. 🌎 What does it mean? - 6 out of 9 planetary boundaries have been breached: climate, pollution, water, land use, nutrients imbalance and biodiversity. - 7th boundary of oceans acidity is at risk too; - these 7 boundaries are moving deeper into the red zone. - ozone and aerosols are what we got right for the moment. What do we need to do? A “Whole Earth” Approach. Where we don’t just focus on climate, but on other natural systems too. So they can buffer the stress, caused by climate change. What does it mean for businesses? 1. Cutting emissions 2. Helping suck out carbon from the atmosphere with NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS. 🌱 There, I am not the one who said it. Scientists did! We need investments into nature, urgently. So nature can help us buffer the stress. That’s what we’ve been saying at Earth Plus. And that’s what we’ve been working on: turning nature restoration into investments. The time for nature is now. 🌱 Lots more info in comments, if you want a deep dive.

We wooooon! 🏆 Yesterday our team presented a new investment concept for land restoration in Spain. And received Del20 Innovation Pitch Award! What is this concept about? Doing well by doing good! It’s about restoring degraded lands, together with regenerative farmer Alfonso Chico de Guzman. And turning business costs into profitable investments. 🌱 So stay tuned for more details! Thank you to everyone who voted for us! And to our fantastic partner, delaware BeLux, for everything!!! Special thanks go to Thierry Bruyneel, Christoph Bogaerts, C-biotech, Ingmar Nopens, Frederik Verstraete, Elena Doms and Alfonso Chico de Guzman 🙏

A reminder from Sadhguru JV: our lives depend soils and trillions of tiny organisms. Soils are home to 25% of global biodiversity. Soil microorganisms are also inside us, helping us digest food and stay healthy. Our life depends on soils and these trillions of lives. And it’s our responsibility to treasure soils, clean them and restore them. No soils = No us. We are all life. And we are all nature. 🌱 #soils #food #sustainability

How to stop degraded land and earn carbon credits? With climate change and intensive agriculture we are loosing soils fast.  🌲 52% of lands globally are already degraded. 🌲 The European Soil Data Center indicates that >80% of EU agricultural lands are degraded. 💡 What if you could invest in land property, restore land, create jobs, reduce CO2, earn carbon credits and have a financial benefit in the end That's where the team of Earth Plus is working on and all of this with the use of Hemp. Interesting to find out more come by our #DEL20 Inspiration Café on September 24th and have in depth sessions with the team. See the link in the comments to subscribe 👇 Great seeing Frederik Verstraete Elena Doms Ingmar Nopens and the delaware BeLux team working on a better future #sustainability #innovation

Reducing the use of #PFAS —known as #foreverchemicals— in clothing, furniture and other textile products, is important to increase recyclability and the transition to a more #circulareconomy according to our #EEABriefing published today. #Textiles are one of the biggest sources of #PFASpollution in Europe. Polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), a group of highly persistent chemicals, are widely used in many textile-based products including clothing, carpets and other household goods for waterproofing, oil, dirt and heat protection, and increased durability. However, they also persist over time and may accumulate in humans, animals and the environment, increasing the risk of serious health and environmental impacts. 10,000 'forever chemical' sites in the UK. Yes, cleanup costs look enormous. But we can cut them down by using nature-based solutions! Traditional solutions focus on excavating the soils and treating/landfilling them. It's necessary for highly-contaminated hotspots. But it's expensive and carbon intensive for mildly polluted areas all around them. These areas can be phytoremediated on site, by using trees, plants and and fungi. It's cheaper and more sustainable.
