About us

Who we are The Platform for Electromobility unites 40 organisations from across civil society, industries, cities and across all transport modes. Our members are committed to promote electromobility and strive to collectively develop solutions to electrify European transport, and to promote those solutions to the EU institutions and Member States. Our Vision The vision of the Platform for electromobility is a sustainable, multimodal transport system in which people and goods are predominantly moved across land, inland waterways, sea and air in Europe using, sustainable electricity as efficiently as possible. Our Aims The aim of the Platform is to drive the development, implementation and support for sustainable European Union policies, programmes and initiatives to move people and goods by electromobility. We achieve our objectives by: - Providing a forum in which diverse likeminded organisations effectively collaborate to develop the market for electro-mobility Collectively inputting to EU policy making processes and other relevant forum - Developing practical and policy solutions addressing barriers and developing solutions which accelerate electro-mobility - Actively promoting electro-mobility to key decision makers and influencers in EU institutions and Member States.

  • The #powergrid is electromobility's next frontier. 👷   As the adoption of electric vehicles (#EVs) increases, it becomes imperative to step up our efforts to achieve their seamless integration – and related charging infrastructure – into the existing power grid. While the development of electric mobility is a significant asset to a clean energy system, it nevertheless raises questions over the management of power grids and connected charging infrastructure.   The Platform for Electromobility thus proposes a series of three webinars to analysis, debate and propose solution to ensure a smooth integration of electromobility into the grid.    The webinar series, titled "Trilogy for the Grid", will consist of three concise sessions, each focusing on crucial aspects of the topic. The objectives of these sessions include raising awareness of challenges, provide policy solutions at EU level, and fostering discussions between stakeholders and policy makers to lead to actionable solutions. Each session will feature three expert interviews, audience Q&A sessions, and remarks from a representative of the European Commission.   Episode 1 | 12th September ⚡ https://lnkd.in/giMt4ZWK "Solutions for a smooth integration of emobility into the grid" - moderated by Paul Wilczek   Episode 2 | 19th September 🚚 https://lnkd.in/gurZuSZX "Solutions for grid-friendly roll-out of electric heavy duty vehicles" - @Moderated by Kim Johanna B. Kohlmeyer   Episode 3 | 26th September 🔌 https://lnkd.in/gmaY6xPV "A Comprehensive Roadmap for V2X integration in Europe" - Moderated by Jayson Dong

  • A few month later, the European Commission's Public Consultation is coming to an end soon. 🌇 A legislative initiative to mandate the electrification of large corporate fleets by 2030 is key to ensure the development of a #secondhand market for #EVs in Europe. Don't forget to have your say in this consultation! Deadline : 8th July.

  • The successful deployment of V2X technology requires coherence, decisive actions, and strong political ownership at the EU level. It's crucial to ensure alignment across Member States, EU legislation, and various levels of governance. Our latest publication emphasizes the importance of coherence, actions, and political ownership in driving the future of V2X. 📘 Notably: 1️⃣ Coherence across Member States 2️⃣ Alignment across EU legislations and regulations (some like Fabian Sperka will even call for a comprehensive Bidirectional Act) 3️⃣ Coordination between levels of governance, and notably local authorities, (right Pedro Gomes?) 📝 Read the full publication here: https://lnkd.in/eJRDVapp #V2X #Electromobility #EUlegislation #SustainableTransport #EuropeanGreenDeal #SmartCharging #EnergyEfficiency #Innovation

  • 🐒 Fun Fact: the benefits of the Green Deal will not hit the ground by itself. While the #NZIA and #CRMA are crucial initial steps to ensure the Green Deal benefits people, businesses, and the climate, they require a complementary initiative: a robust European Net-Zero Investment Plan (#NZIP). In a recent publication, we present a comprehensive overview of 30 investment priorities for sustainable transport, spanning seven main areas. Today, we delve into one of these areas: Charging Infrastructures, covering 5 of the 30 priorities: - High-power charging infrastructures for HDVs 🚚⚡️ - Depot charging for HDVs 🏭🔌 - Charging infrastructures for LDVs 🚗🔋 - Charging infrastructures in urban areas 🏙️⚡️ - Residential charging 🏠🔌 Curious about the other 25 priorities to make the Green Deal a reality? • Should Europe roll back the phase-out of ICE vehicles by #2035? 🚗 Industries say no ✖️ Today, we're sounding the alarm on potential setbacks to our emission goals ahead of this week's first European Council meeting under the new mandate. "Reversing the 2035 zero emission cars goal will harm EU industry," warns the Platform for Electromobility. Recent calls to backtrack on CO2 standards threaten to undermine Europe's leading EV industrial strategy, crucial for attracting vital investment to European companies. Our latest document, supported by key industrial stakeholders and associations, emphasizes the urgent need for a consistent regulatory framework to foster the net-zero industrial ecosystem. Rolling back emission targets now risks penalizing those who have already invested in this green transition—automotive, battery, and infrastructure sectors included. ✖️
