About us

Who we are The Platform for Electromobility unites 40 organisations from across civil society, industries, cities and across all transport modes. Our members are committed to promote electromobility and strive to collectively develop solutions to electrify European transport, and to promote those solutions to the EU institutions and Member States. Our Vision The vision of the Platform for electromobility is a sustainable, multimodal transport system in which people and goods are predominantly moved across land, inland waterways, sea and air in Europe using, sustainable electricity as efficiently as possible. Our Aims The aim of the Platform is to drive the development, implementation and support for sustainable European Union policies, programmes and initiatives to move people and goods by electromobility. We achieve our objectives by: - Providing a forum in which diverse likeminded organisations effectively collaborate to develop the market for electro-mobility Collectively inputting to EU policy making processes and other relevant forum - Developing practical and policy solutions addressing barriers and developing solutions which accelerate electro-mobility - Actively promoting electro-mobility to key decision makers and influencers in EU institutions and Member States.

  • 🐒 Fun Fact: the benefits of the Green Deal will not hit the ground by itself. While the #NZIA and #CRMA are crucial initial steps to ensure the Green Deal benefits people, businesses, and the climate, they require a complementary initiative: a robust European Net-Zero Investment Plan #NZIP. In a recent publication, we present a comprehensive overview of 30 investment priorities for sustainable transport, spanning seven main areas. Today, we delve into one of these areas: #Skills and #Workforce, covering 3 of the 30 priorities and an estimated share of 5.7% of investement needs. - Mapping training needs and training capacities 🗺️📊 - Increasing existing training capacity 📈📚 - Awareness Campaigns 📢🎯 Curious about the other 27 priorities to make the Green Deal a reality? • What are the challenges and opportunities standing in front of the #battery industry and value chain?🔋 Last month at #EUSEW2024, we had the opportunity to hear from diverse, European leading manufacuters of #sustainabletransport solutions. The raising star of this ecosystem is the battery industry ✨ but the road to sustainability is paved with some hurdles. Julia Altenhofer, director at Northvolt, notably mentioned three key challenges to developp this industries the most sustainable way, "from the get-go": 🧑🎓- Provide the European workforce with the right skills for this new industry 🪙 - Enable the condition to mobilise enough capital for this very capital intensive of this industry ⚡ - Bring more renewable energy into the grid to lower energy prices and ensure EU battery value chain remain competitive. • Enlit vows to turn on the change we need to ensure our industry - and our planet - have the brightest possible future. Enlit Europe is a series of energy events unlike any other - because they are more than just energy events. Enlit is a community that for 365 days a year will collaborate and innovate to solve the most pressing energy-related issues. In that sense, we at the Platform for Electromobility feel very close to Enlit: indeed, our goal to unite the different sectors of the electromobility ecosystem to make the energy transition a succes miror Enlit's. At the European edition, the Enlit community will come together in Milan from 22 - 24 October 2024, to meet and inspire each other and to develop their discussions and actions to take steps forward in the energy transition. And so the Enlit circle begins: a constantly growing, inclusive and end-to-end forum that addresses every aspect of the energy agenda.

  • [Webinar 📹] A Comprehensive Roadmap for V2X Integration in Europe 🏁 Our Trilogy for the Grid is back with Episode Three: "A Comprehensive Roadmap for V2X Integration in Europe" When ? | Online webinar will take place on 📆 26th September ⏲️ 10am What? | The webinar series, titled "Trilogy for the Grid", will consist of three concise sessions, each focusing on crucial aspects of the topic. The objectives of these sessions include raising awareness of challenges, provide policy solutions at EU level, and fostering discussions between stakeholders and policy makers to lead to actionable solutions. Each session will feature three expert interviews, audience Q&A sessions, and remarks from a representative of the European Commission. We invite you to join the first episode titled “A Comprehensive Roadmap for V2X Integration in Europe” to join the discussion. The webinar will be presenting the recently published recommendation paper by the Platform for Electromobility on the deployment of "vehicle-to-everything" (V2X) technologies. These technologies can transform electric vehicles into valuable assets for grid management. We will highlight the potential of V2X technologies, the barriers to their development, and the necessary policy and legislative frameworks to support their implementation. Who ? | The webinar will be moderated by Jayson Dong. Experts will include: - Linus von Sydow (Volvo Cars) 🚘 - Brieuc Giard (smartEn Smart Energy Europe) ↔️ - Jan Osenberg (SolarPower Europe) ☀️ Conclusion will be proposed by Claire Levavasseur (DG ENER) Register here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gmaY6xPV Register to other episode of this webinar series: Episode 1 "Solutions for a smooth integration of emobility into the grid" ➡️ https://lnkd.in/giMt4ZWK Episode two: Solutions for grid-friendly roll-out of electric heavy duty vehicles ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gurZuSZX

  • What is the impact on power grid of the electrification of transport? 🐘 We particularly wondered with Bertrand TISON (Decathlon ) if #ebike are as light on the grid as they are on the grid. The anwser is clear "you cannot beat the energy efficiency of an e-bike for your day to day transports", said Bertrand. Choosing the most efficient mode of transport for each specific usages will spare capacity on the power grid. In short, to decarbonise transport, European must be able to access the right electric mode of transport for every different needs. (Re)watch the whole conference here: https://lnkd.in/e2MDk5zW
