Do you remember our Picanol site in the Polenlaan? 🏭 Well, to honor 15 years of Downtown (Neerstad), which is where our factory used to be situated, the Ieper City Archives recently developed an exhibition and short documentary on the history of the former Picanol site in Polenlaan. 🔙 The exhibition, which consists of a diverse arrangement of maps, photos, and other documents, gives a great insight into the history of Picanol’s former site in Polenlaan. 💡 Furthermore, a short documentary features six of our former colleagues reflecting on their time at the factory, their daily tasks, and the unique bonds they formed with their colleagues. 🎬 If you’re curious to learn more about our fascinating story, you might like to consider visiting the library and archive in Ieper this summer. We’re back again with a new “How it works” video. ⚙️ This time, Lieven Engelbeen (Sales Manager) invites you to discover the benefits of Climate monitoring, 💧🌡 which comes as a standard feature on all our machines from the Connect generation. Our future new headquarters 💼 in Ieper is really progressing! 🤩 Some parts of the interior floor are already in place. Underfloor heating which is currently being installed, together with the climate ceilings, will provide climate-friendly heating and cooling using the principle of geothermal energy. 🔁 Along the outside of the building, slats are currently being mounted. Last week, our colleagues in Ieper (Belgium) enjoyed an inspiring 💡 visit to our future new headquarters. 🤩 During the evening, more than 320 colleagues from Picanol, Proferro and Psicontrol attended a presentation in the future auditorium of the building. As a company, we believe it’s necessary to fully commit to sustainability and invest in renewable energy. 🌍 Following on from the commissioning of 3,061 solar panels at our company premises in Ieper (Belgium) last year, an additional 2,742 solar panels have now been installed. 🌞 This second batch of solar panels will be put into operation in the coming weeks. 🔜 And from that point onwards, all 5,803 solar panels will ensure no less than 3.3 megawatts of capacity in total! 🤩 We’re really delighted with this investment, as we’re completely committed to contributing to a sustainable society. Some of our colleagues formed a team last week along with colleagues from Proferro and Psicontrol to play a soccer match against our professional partner Westlandia VZW. ⚽ After an exciting first half of play, our colleagues were able to further extend their lead, to ultimately take home the victory with a final score of 9 against 2. 🥇 Afterwards, the two teams had the opportunity to socialize over a convivial drink. 🥤 It was a successful afterwork match with not only great teamwork and motivated participants 🙌, but also lots of enthusiastic supporters! 🤩🍀 Thanks to Westlandia for this friendly sportive challenge. 🤝 #picanol #letsgrowtogeher #workingatpicanol
