The Phase4AI-EUProject partners revealing is continuing 🚀 👉 Today, we present Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue (Varha). ✅Profile: Varha (The Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland) is responsible for organizing social and health services and rescue operations. The county is made up of 27 municipalities, a hospital district, special care services and rescue services. Varha provides all the health and social services, the services for the elderly, the disability services and the emergency services produced by the wellbeing services county (Varha) listed by municipality. We also give Information services for research and teaching. We support data-driven scientific research in healthcare and scientific innovations, aiming to better and more efficient future treatments and health services. ✅Role: The Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland (Varha) is a large, university-level regional primary and specialized health care provider in Finland. In particular, Turku university hospital has traditionally had strong health data processing services to support scientific register studies and R&D activities. ✍️Exciting News from Phase4AI-EUProject!💡 📢We are happy to invite you to browse our first publication "Interpreting artificial intelligence models: a systematic review on the application of LIME and SHAP in Alzheimer’s disease detection", prepared by our partner Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and published in Brain Informatics, an international open-access journal. ✅Abstract: Explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) has gained much interest in recent years for its ability to explain the complex decision-making process of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models. The Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) and Shaply Additive exPlanation (SHAP) frameworks have grown as popular interpretive tools for ML and DL models. This article provides a systematic review of the application of LIME and SHAP in interpreting the detection of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Adhering to PRISMA and Kitchenham’s guidelines, we identified 23 relevant articles and investigated these frameworks’ prospective capabilities, benefits, and challenges in depth. The results emphasise XAI’s crucial role in strengthening the trustworthiness of AI-based AD predictions. Within the framework of the Phase4AI-EUProject project, Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and Eurecat - Centro Tecnológico led a workshop to evaluate the impact of #ArtificialIntelligence to improve workflows and promote rapid diagnosis of lung cancer. This event provided a unique opportunity to understand the major needs between two fields that have traditionally operated independently: medicine and AI. Collaboration between these sectors promises to drive significant advances in the field of digital health, with the potential to improve the quality of life of patients affected by lung cancer. ✨Exciting news from Phase4AI-EUProject✨ Turun yliopisto - University of Turku, Turku University of Applied Sciences and VTT organized with great success a physical Workshop on 4th April 2024 entitled "AI and data analytics in health care - PHASE IV AI project’s use case workshop". The aim of the workshop was to collectively gather feedback on PHASE IV AI solutions from different stakeholder groups and potential users of the project's outcomes. The main objective of Phase4AI-EUProject is to generate privacy compliant, individual-level health data for development of innovative health technologies, which may be utilized by cross-border stakeholders. The Health Data Hub will provide both Data as a Service (DaaS) and Model as a Service (MaaS) solutions in a data market. The developments of Phase4AI-EUProject will be validated in three real-life use cases in relevant high impact diseases comprising of Lung Cancer, Prostate Cancer, and Ischemic Stroke. The specific workshop was focused on Prostate Cancer and Ischemic Stroke use cases, while additional events will be organized in Finland, and by Phase4AI-EUProject partners in other countries as well.
