Last to our lineup of wonderful speakers but to kick-start #PEMAAntwerp2024 on Tuesday 8th October, is Dr. Daniel Beck. 👤 Dr. Daniel Beck 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: HPC Hamburg Port Consulting GmbH 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: AI-Strategy & Implementation Manager Daniel is an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalisation, with a focus on the maritime and logistics sectors. He has led projects that significantly improved operational efficiencies through AI-driven digital transformations, including implementing machine learning for predictive analytics and process optimisation. With a Ph.D. in AI applications for precision manufacturing technologies, particularly in the use of complex machinery, Daniel has advanced predictive maintenance and enhanced process stability in hardware-intensive environments. His diverse career includes leading global service operations for precision equipment in 3D printing and over five years of experience in China’s fastening industry. For a very interesting insight into cybersecurity, we are enthusiastic to have Cybersecurity Professional Pieter van der Hulst join us at our upcoming #AutumnMeeting in Antwerp. 👤 Pieter van der Hulst 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: i-Force 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: Cybersecurity Professional Pieter has investigated and managed many fraud cases through which he gained a vast experience in the opportunities for fraud, as well as for its detection and deterrence. He is also regularly appointed by court as a judicial IT expert, both in civil and (fiscal) penal cases. Pieter regularly conducts formal incident investigations and handles advanced incident handling scenarios, including internal and external data breach intrusions, advanced persistent threats, anti-forensic techniques used by attackers, and complex digital forensic cases. Pieter has in-depth knowledge on authorization and authentication mechanisms, especially in online banking environments and as such has been investigating many security breaches in this area. Another fantastic addition to our line up of guest speakers for the upcoming PEMA Autumn Meeting in Antwerp is Rob Smeets. 👤 Rob Smeets 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: Port of Antwerp-Bruges 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: COO 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱: Antwerp, Belgium Rob Smeets is COO at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. He joined the executive committee in August 2017, having previously served as manager of the towage company within the Antwerp Port Authority. Rob is responsible for all operational services. His Operations department consists of three subdivisions: Nautical (Nautical Operations), Assets (Asset management, including bridges, locks, quay walls) and Port Projects (major renovation or new construction projects port infrastructure). A smooth, safe, expeditious, customer-friendly and cost-efficient course of the nautical activities and traffic flows in the port are key. Another exciting contributor to our guest speaker panel joining us at #PEMAAntwerp2024 in less than two weeks time, is Yves De Larivière. 👤 Yves De Lariviere 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: AET 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: CEO 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱: Antwerp, Belgium Yves de Larivière is a seasoned Managing Director at Antwerp Euroterminal, and his dedicated and strong sustainable focus is admirable. AET, owned by the Grimaldi family, is Italy’s biggest shipowning group. Next to vessel operator, the group owns 20 Terminals in various continents capable of handling the wide variety of cargo shipped by their vessels. Before joining the Grimaldi Group, Yves did work for BASF. During these 18 years he did have the opportunity to work in many different roles and places, the perfect preparation to keep a wide and open ‘out of the box’ view towards challenges, but even more towards opportunities and solutions. You won't want to miss an insightful presentation from Ms. Lamia Kerdjoudj at #PEMAAntwerp2024 this October. 👤 Ms. Lamia Kerdjoudj 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: FEPORT 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: Secretary General 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱: Brussels, Belgium Ms. Lamia Kerdjoudj is the Secretary General of FEPORT, the Federation of European Private Port Companies and Terminals. She has a professional experience of more than 27 years during which she held different positions within the maritime and logistics sector, and among others, she has been the Public Affairs manager of the French Shipowners’ Organization for over seven years. Between 2009 - 2012, Lamia was appointed as a senior expert and advisor in the framework of several European projects financed by different Directorates of the European Commission. She has also worked for private companies and corporations (among others Capmarine, Budd SA, CATRAM, EGIS) and has been in charge of consulting and business development assignments for large multinational companies. For the past 15 years, Ms. Kerdjoudj also lectured in Business schools in France and Germany in the field of stakeholders’ management and multilateral negotiations. Our third guest speaker to join us this at this October's Autumn Meeting in Antwerp doesn't have to travel very far, meet Wijnand Visser. 👤 Wijnand Visser 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: MPET 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: Technical Manager 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱: Antwerp, Belgium Wijnand Visser is the Technical Manager of the MPET container terminal in Antwerp, and also leads the transformation and expansion programs of this terminal. Graduating as a mechanical engineer, Wijnand has been working in the shipping and container terminal industry since 2000 in engineering, business development, operations management and continuous improvement. He has 3 children, and in his spare time Wijnand plays hockey, and enjoys sailing as well as skitouring.
