Great use of maintenance downtime in Łódź, Poland! Yesterday, we conducted a small training session as part of our regular annual support for the #NuReSys #StruviteRecovery process we installed at our client's location (wastewater treatment facility of the City of Łódź, Poland) in the past. The session focused on discussion with the operators on how to monitor the system and handle any potential issues, despite the fully automated nature of the process. Regular training like this ensures the team stays up to date and confident in managing the process, maintaining efficiency and sustainability over time. Paper alert! 📣 Can earthworms and root traits improve plant struvite-P uptake? A field mesocosm study Our main findings: •Struvite is just as effective as triple superphosphate under field conditions. •Earthworms do not further increase the effectiveness of struvite-P. •Struvite leads to a slight P limitation, triggering root P acquisition strategies. •Struvite increases arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi colonisation. We are thrilled to share our latest publication in IWA Publishing's "Water Science & Technology"! 🌍💧 An innovative #CircularEconomy system has been implemented at the Brunswick wastewater treatment plant, leading to remarkable improvements over four years: ✅ Methane production increased by 18% ✅ Digestate dewaterability improved by 14% ( 3% dry matter) ✅ High phosphorus recovery rates of over 80% from filtrate ✅ Nitrogen recovery as ammonium sulfate at 85–97% from filtrate While refractory COD concentration increased by 4 mg/L, the effluent still met legal standards, and the secondary fertilizers showed low pollutant content, minimizing risks to ecosystems. Overall, we’ve seen a decrease in the plant's carbon footprint due to enhanced biogas production, renewable fertilizer recovery, and reduced nitrous oxide emissions.
